Great location and service
Plaka Hotel is in a very strategic location in Athens, close to main tourist attractions and restaurants. It is within walking distance to the Acropolis, ancient Agora and Monistiraki metro station. Great taverns and restaurants are around the area. The breakfast is great as well as the service. I had left my voltage transformer in NJ; the concierge lent me a transformer. It allowed me to re-charge my camera batteries and helped me take more pictures for precious memories. I’d go back any time.
Traveler's tip
Shop at stores along Ermou street in Plaka instead of Kolonaki. You will save mega bucks. Try delicious lamb chops and fine retsina at an outdoor taverna in Plaka called Giouvetsakia. It’s near the foot of the Acropolis.

Perfect location
cnns: Tiny tiny bathrooms. were given 2 single beds even though we requested a double bed. only one elevator and its pretty slow during the early morning hours when people are checking out and going for breakfast. pros: excellent location just 3 minutes walking distance from monastiraki metro and about 8-10 minutes from syntagma. everything is right there next to the hotel, walk around anywhere and you can see the acropolis. nice eating joints all around, plenty of shops nearby and buzzing with activity. bus no. 400 which is the hop on hop off version for athens is just 3 minutes walking distance next to monastiraki. breakfast was decent, free tea/coffee/drinking water in the hotel.
