Best Western Airport Plaza Hotel

Very friendly staff

My wife and I stayed at this hotel a couple years ago. The room was nice and clean. This last visit we had a little trouble with the A/C. It worked OK but sounded like a small airplane.. Still very nice staff and good service.

Convient, clean, ok

It was exactly what I expected. All the staff was friendly,the room was clean,convient location, the only thing was the watts on the light bulbs were too low...so it was kinda dark

As noted by others, desk personnel could use a little help with their bedside manners, but answered all questions fully with businesslike efficiency. We ate in the hotel restaurant and had a very pleasant experience. The room was quite comfortable and clean. We have stayed here before and enjoy the lobby area and the outside view. Being so close to the airport and willing to let us park our car there (for a reasonable fee) while we were gone are primary reasons for using their facility. We would certainly recommend it to others.

was great to check in and just wait for my husband’s arrival flight. Was great to just drive across the street although there is a hotel shuttle avaible as well. Was nice to have movies in the room , room service, and a cozy bar instead of the crowded casino enviorment. Shopping and dozens of great places to eat just a short drive.. I would definatley recommended and plan to use this hotel when in the area.

you can park your car and fly, shuttle to airport and local casino, we got a better room rate by booking on line with expedia than contacting hotel booking.

Good Staff But Hotel Is In Horrible Condition

The staff was great, and the lobby looked inviting but as soon as I stepped into my room I knew I had made a mistake. The overall room including the bedding, t.v.’s, etc... do not look like they have been updated in 15 years. I checked in took a nap and checked back out and went to the Grand Sierra Resort Summit which for the same price I got 10 times the room and 10 times the hotel and it was right down the road, I would Highly recommend The Grand Sierra Resort Summit Rooms.

location, location, location

Great place to stay if you’re flying out of Reno. Has a walkway to the airport and they’ll let you leave your car there for $3.50/day. Much cheaper than airport parking.

Won’t go back

I actually had a guest open my door one evening about 9:00. Luckily I had the security bar on and they did not come in. When I called the front desk, they could offer no explanation as to how someone had a key to my room. I can only assume it was an error at the front desk as I had both my room keys with me. This is not a hotel that has that warm, friendly feeling. If you just want a place to sleep, it isn’t bad. I felt that the staff did nothing to make me feel welcome. I stay at Best Westerns about 30 to 40 nights a year. This was my first bad experience.

Convenient

The worst pillows I have experienced in a long time. The shuttle service to the casinos left us waiting a long time and the front desk employees were indifferent to our complaints. I would only stay at this hotel again if I had a very early flight.

Close access to airport and highway

You get the noise of airport traffic on 1 side and highway traffic on other side at all hours. The staff is knowledgeable but not very friendly. If you are going to be in Reno, NV for a short stay this location is acceptable.

Good Enough

The hotel is good enough for an overnite stay to travel in or out of Reno Airport, you can leave your car locked in the parking lot and it is even possible to walk to the airport if you don’t want to wait for the shuttle when you return. The place is noisy though and we could hear someone’s TV through the walls.

The hotel was clean and convenient, very quiet for a place next to the airport. Would stay there again without a second thought.

Old and tired

Heating is room specific and the heater is fairly loud. There is no room temperature setting, so the room can get too hot or too cold depending on the setting for the heater. The hotel is old and the room is dark even with all the lights turned on. The worst part is that the shower has weak water pressure and the availability of hot water seems to depend on how many people in the hotel are taking a shower at the same time. For instance, during busy mornings when most guests are preparing to start their day, I could only get luke-warm water to spout out of the shower no matter how far I turned the knob toward HOT water.

Reno’s Best Western Airport Hotel

The airport shuttle is excellent - timely and friendly service. In the rooms, the heaters are extremely noisy and the rooms in general are run down and old. But if they can get the money from the travelers without upgrading, why not? I’d stay somewhere else if another hotel had the airport parking.

Nothing fancy; Clean

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while on business in Reno. You simply can NOT beat this hotel with regards to how close it is to the Reno airport. Check-in was effortless. Rooms are clean. Not fancy or anything; simple. Bar and resturant downstairs is good. They offer shuttle service to the airport which runs 24/7.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Located directly across the street from the Reno airport. You’ll take more time to get your bags in baggage claim than you will getting to the hotel.

Nice Alternative

A nice alternative to staying in the hotel casinos. Convenient for airport travelers. The shuttles are an easy way into the casinos but then you leave all the noise behind when you return for a quiet nights sleep. They could work on having friendlier front desk people and some of the rooms need upgraded heating systems and bathroom fixtures.
