Ascott Beijing
This hotel had been recommended to us and we were very impressed with the size and comfort of our "apartment". Our only complaint was that the bed was quite hard. Staff was very helpful and friendly. There is a complimentary breakfast each morning, nice pool and internet available. I will definitely stay at the Ascott if available on my next travel.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The city of Beijing is very large. You can’t really get to anyplace without a taxi. Luckily, they are quite inexpensive. There are several temples, palaces and of course the Great Wall. See them all.

Great room for family of 5
Great room (really, it’s a furnished apt, even kitchen is stocked)- 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, laundry room. Clean room, a lot of space, very "homey." Nice pool and hot tub. Only negative is limited restaurants in and around hotel, but there is a Subway for sandwiches to go, and Wal-Mart is 15 min walk to get food to eat/prepare in kitchen. Included breakfast for 2 people only, and not great food. Close to Forbidden City. Limited # of staff speak English, but front desk does.
