A phenomenal hotel
This hotel is wonderful. It has been beautifully restored and updated with a contemporary touch. It has a lovely peaceful pool area to relax in after a day of exploring and the dining room is spectacular with it’s glass flooring to view the ruins (mosaic flooring, columns etc)over which the building was constructed. The meals were excellent and the service in every respect was very attentive. The only problem was that it was hard to find on the first day there - a lot of one way streets - definitely call for directions! I can’t wait to return and now want to try all of the Hospes hotels!

Excellent hotel but beware of finding it
Only one in a hundred would find this hotel by driving to it even with a GPS. Either park outside town and cab in or better yet hire a cab and follow it to the hotel. A map or directions are nearly worthless as there are very few signs that tell you the names of streets. Rediculously difficult if you arrive during the Feria as we did. Be advised. You can be a block away and not be able to drive into the hotel.

very pretty looking
This hotel looks beautiful and the service is very good. It lacks substance however and you can tell that it is just a pretty veneer in some places like the warped floor boards in our room and the cracked glass side table. But in a town with limited 4 start choices this is a good one unless you can find a really charming and clean one which we did not take the time to do.
