A cosy autumn retreat
A very pleasant hotel with all the modern facilities. Very convenient short walk to cable car and "Ropeway" to the main scenic attractions of Hakone. Surrounding area is wooded and quiet. Key hotel staff are versed in English and very friendly.

Relaxing Retreat
My only regret is that we did not stay longer at the Hakone Hyatt Regency. We planned our stay as a break in our travels between Tokyo and Kyoto on a week long visit to Japan. The hotel is gorgeous, the atmosphere serene, and the service impeccable. Our room was spacious and luxurious, with a view of Mt. Fuji. The dining room offers a variety of Japanese and Continental cuisine, and the spa services are excellent. Guests also have access to the onsen (hot bath) for a nominal fee. The hotel is just a short walk from the funicular and cable car that takes you over the hills and down to Lake Ashi. The experience of getting to Gora was part of the fun and included a ride on a "switchback train" through the mountains to the Gora station. Wonderful!

Hakone Gora Hyatt Regency
The architecture and decor of the hotel are quite beautiful and quintessentially contemporary Japanese. The service and amenities are worthy of a five star hotel. The food was delicious and presented in an inviting and lovely setting. The spa facilities are first rate and the hotel is within easy access of local sites and points of interests, including spots from which Mt. Fuji can be viewed.

Take a bus to Lake Ashi for the best viewing of Mt. Fuji.
