Assessment of Athena
The hotel was very nice. The breakfast was good, service was very nice and helpful, and the room was huge by European standards for a two-star hotel. The only drawback was the slipperiness of the tub, which had a hand-held Water Pik attached to the tap to turn it into a "shower". It is probably wise as a general rule to bring shower shoes on a trip to Europe anyway just in case.

Definitely get a one, two, or three-day City Pass when you travel to Lyon. It is worth it!!

One of Lyon’s best located hotels
The hotel location was great; right across the street there is a mall with restaurants, hundreds of stores and a Carrefour convenience store (this came in very handy as my luggage got lost and I could just run across the street and buy whatever I needed until my luggage arrived). Buses and tram pass right outside the hotel.

Convenient Location
The Hotel is located right at the entrance of Lyon Part Dieu SNCF station. For travellers taking Lyon as the base and travel to nearby destinations by train, Hotel Athena is a good choice.
