This place was terrible. Would not ever stay there again. Rather sleep in car!!!!

Perfectly fine

This is not a five-star spa deluxe package type of hotel, but it is just fine for the money. The place is well-lit, clean, and the staff were mostly friendly.

Great value for the buck!

Staff was great. Very clean rooms. Nice pool. Hard to find clean and good staff for this price per night! Staff recommended great food nearby non-chain restaurants.

Roanoke Hotel

Our stay at this hotel was great. The staff was nice and very helpful. The breakfast selection could have been better but it was adequate.

Great, inexpensive place to sleep

The room was sparkling clean. The staff was courteous and friendly. The breakfast even featured a waffle iron. I would definitely stay here again. You won’t find better accommodations for this small money.

ok except room to warm

Everything was fine except it was a warm night and the a/c is one of those intermittent ones that apparently with an internal thermostat. It only came on once or twice the entire night so the room was uncomfortably warm. On the positive side, the room was clean and the complimentary breakfast was decent.

Rooms where nice, service was good. Real good location easy to get to, and out of. located right beside of interstate 81.

Easy access from I-81. Restaurants nearby.

Filthy Dirty

I would never go back to this hotel again. Filthy dirty in lobby, corridors and rooms and bathrooms. Bad customer service. I paid for 4 people in my room and had to go down to front desk and argue with them to provide me with 4 bath towels. Was in town for a funeral and additional family driving into Roanoke called to make reservations at the same hotel I was staying at and for the next two days I was apolizing to my family for choosing this hotel. Will never stay there again. I don’t believe I’ll ever stay at a Days Inn again.

Great value!

Short stay overnight. Was very pleased with the quality of the hotel for the price and especially for this type of hotel. Clean, simple and no complaints. Everything you would expect for a comfortable night’s stay. Right off the highway of 81 close to Roanoke Airport and a fairly quick ride from Blacksburg.

Good for short stay

If you like to be comfortable......

you may not want to stay here. If you’re used to older hotels where you have to borrow an iron from the front desk, then this hotel is for you. If you don’t mind seeing hair of the previous guest in the bathroom sink, then this hotel is ok for you. Look, the bottom line is this hotel is basically a room with a bed in it. This is fine for some people, and it’s a problem for others. I decided to try this hotel because I wanted to save money. Well, after seeing the condition of the room, I decided to eat my losses and go next door to a hotel chain I’m quite familiar with: The Hampton Inn!

Traveler's tip on shopping

Hey, I can’t remember the name of the mall, but it is off I581 and it was a pleasant experience. Not to mention all of the chain restaurants nearby. Roanoke was, surprisingly, not a bad place to stay a day.

Poor Customer Service

Improve customer service and cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms. Pool was very clean.

Not the best accomodations, but not bad either. Overall, a good value for the price and location.

Solice for a weary traveler

So that our daughter’s long return trip to New York would be safer, we suggested stopping half way. Upon a late arrival, she called and bragged about the easy check-in. On the road in the morning, she complimented the bed, the food and the easy check-out. What a relief for worried parents.

Upgrade Needed

Staff was very attentive to our needs. cleaning was prompt and sufficiant. The hotel is an excellant value but the physical plant itself is in real need of an upgrade. Carpets, lighting windows all need to be replaced.

Way too over priced for such a dirty old place. Three floors with no elevator!

Warn out hotel with paper thin walls

Old, just old. It needs a remodel desperately. Paper thin walls, I could hear the car chase in the room next door as if I was watching it on my TV.

Shoddy maintenance

This is a fairly nice property which, based on previous reviews, seems to be going downhill. There were several stains in the rug (there is an extra charge for pets, so they should be cleaned up), there were mismatched grout and dispalced tiles in the shower surround, the tub had been painted and the paint was wearing off, and the towel rack was loose. The door didn’t close well. There was a microwave and regfrigerator in the room, the refringerator was turned on but at the warmest setting. Towells and sheets were very clean, and otherwise the room was very comfortable and roomy. In fact there would have been room for an additional chair and table or a couch.

Not too bad

The hotel itself was nice, though I think it was overpriced. Room was clean and comfortable, except that I could hear the TV in the room next to me all night. Otherwise, the stay was nice and comfortable, check in and check out were easy and quick.

Cheap Sleep

Nothing special. Just off the freeway, but not as noisy as I expected. Desk help was friendly. Bathroom light fixture was cracked and the florescent bulb inside would only come on after tapping it. If you are too short, it is a bit dark!

Basic shelter

Very basic hotel - room was very big, but little in it, bed comfortable, lighting was poor throughout the room. Powerful heater. Construction site behind hotel, and somebody does day care in the room at the top of the stairs. To get ice - you go outside to the other wing. Not a very secure hotel, corridor doors unlocked at ends of halls, probably not a good place for female traveler
