Friendly, efficient, helpful staff; one caveat
The staff at the Long Life Hotel are excellent. They provide many services such as currency exchange and excursion booking (e.g. the Cham ruins at My Son). The hotel is within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance of most Hoi An tailoring shops and places of historical interest, such as the merchant houses and the assembly halls. The rooms are clean and well air-conditioned. There is no elevator in the hotel. Do not get a room facing the street. This is advice for most hotels in Vietnam. The manner of driving in the country leads to incessant use of the car or motorbike horn, which makes sleeping beyond 6 a.m. a challenge.

What a great deal.
Hoi An is a great city and Long Life is a great hotel. Tham, the manager, led us to great food, great tailors, great scooter rental and got us to the airport in great comfort. Please tip the incredibly friendly and adept staff well as they seemed surprised that we tipped at all.
