Would go back in a heartbeat
This hotel was absolutely perfect. The location was fantastic, A charming boutique hotel with a very modern but not cold feel. The staff there was incredibly friendly & helped us pick some amazing restaurants & tours to take. Honestly, after looking at all the other hotels in the area, I wouldn’t recommend any other place than Thingholt. It was everything you could ask for. And honestly, the breakfast was by far one of THE best breakfasts that I’ve had in a hotel. Also the pricing of this place is beyond a steal for the location, service, breakfast & overall experience. For me, THE best hotel in Reykjavik!
Best Restaurant experience was Dill Restaurant. 7 Course with Wine Pairing, heavenly experience.

Hotel is not suited for people over five foot tall
The biggest problem was neither my wife nor I could stand up straight in our room except in the bath and at the entrance. Also, the Front desk wouldn’t replace a light bulb that was out the first night. Later when my TV quit working they said it was a cable problem. Not so. Total mistake.

Very Good Hotel in Downtown Reykjavik
The front staff was very friendly and helpful. We got good restaurant recommendations and they arranged the reservations... and then location, location, location.... most restaurants and bars were in walking distance.... So you should expect some noise, but for me it was not disturbing. The hotel room was very clean and had a modern contemporary styling.
