Curious and well intentioned.
A hotel whose appearance and furnishings might seem more appropriate in Germany, but other then close to the main rail station, I wouldn’t say it is that well situated. The staff were as helpful as one could want, but none of the literature in the room, as to restaurants or room service, was provided in English. As I was only there for one night, this was not a particular problem. The bed was very comfortable if the room was a bit awkward in shape, the bathroom fully equipped and supplied. The room, even being next to the elevators, was very quiet.

Can’t go wrong
The Monterey is a good hotel in Sapporo with good facilities and friendly English speaking staff. I will go back to stay there again.
