A good hotel in not so good location
We stayed three nights in this hotel, and were satisfied with the service and the room, the bath room in particular! For us Asian, the breakfasat is really sufficient, though some may prefer to have buffet breakfast. The location is not that convenient for non Mandarin speaking tourists... it is located in the older part of Taipei, and only really local food are available. The MRT station is quite some distance away, we never use it, as taxi was readily available, and taxi fare is reasonable too.
One of the best way to see Taipei / Taiwan is to rent a taxi -- perhaps 4500 to 5000 NTB a day. The taxi driver will double up as tour guide and will be able to bring you to local special food too... however, not many of them can speak fluent English!

Great place to stay
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The staff are all very friendly and the people at the front desk speak English well. They were very helpful in finding out where to go and how to get there. The location of the hotel is ok. From the hotel, you can walk to the river in one direction or Zhongshan MRT station in the other; the walk takes about 20 mins. Bus stops are right outside. Theres a 7-11 and cheap food stalls downstairs and Ningxia night market is right down the street. We were told by a local that we were staying in the oldest part of the city, and it definitely looked like it. But the hotel itself was very nice (marble and air conditioning and comfy beds!) and I think being in the older section gave it a more unique feel. Plus, the price was great for the value! Overall, I would recommend this hotel with no reservations.
