Great staff, cozy room
We’ve never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, so we didn’t know what to expect. We were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff, the breakfast was very good (with lots of fresh fruit), and our room was very well maintained and comfortable.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Be sure to stop at all the attractions along Crater road in Volcano National Park. Each one is well worth the time and brief walk.

Phenomenal find!
My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Bamboo Orchid Cottage and we were nothing short of extremely pleased our entire stay. I booked our stay there after reading other travelers’ reviews and they were all absolutely correct. The home is lovely, a perfect combination of cottage getaway with an impressive amount of technology to keep you connected. Our room was large, comfortable, with all the amenities of home. The breakfast was UNREAL! Fresh taro waffles! Papaya boats! OMG! Gary, the innkeeper, and Noelle, his assistant, were delightful, helpful, and friendly without being intrusive. If you asked for or needed anything they were only too happy to provide it for you. They couldn’t do enough for you and you felt that they genuinely cared about your comfort during your stay. It was simply wonderful! We cannot wait to return as we will only stay here from now on!

Good Choice in Volcano
My two teenagers and I stayed at the Bamboo Cottage in Volcano for two nights in late March 2008. We found it to be very comfortable; the Enchanged Forest (room over the converted garage) had a nice gas fireplace that kept things cozy. There was a clever punch-in code in place of a key. The place even had a friendly cat who wanted to hang out with us. It was quiet and clean, really everything you could ask for in a B&B. The manager acted as an informal tour guide and gave us a tip for lava viewing that made that experience more enjoyable. We were very satisfied and would stay there again.
