What to expect: Novotel New York - Times Square offers a front-and-center location in the Broadway Theater District, right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Dozens of major corporate headquarters are within a five-block radius. An elevator in the security-controlled street entrance ushers guests into the spacious seventh-floor lobby. Gleaming marble floors, high ceilings, and brightly colored artwork depicting New York’s famed yellow taxis provide a stylish welcome to guests from all over the world.
Amenity highlights: Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel, including guestrooms (complimentary in the 24-hour business center; surcharge elsewhere). The two-level Nicole Restaurant has floor-to-ceiling windows with show-stopping views of Broadway and Times Square. Views are equally impressive from the restaurant’s heated outdoor Sky Deck, open year-round. And the Sky Deck provides a prime vantage point for watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and other celebrations.

Good news: The Novotel is just one block from the Ed Sullivan Theater, where the show is taped. To score those coveted tickets, go to the theater's lobby weekdays between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM, weekends between 10 AM and 6 PM (no lining up before 9 AM). Or submit the admission form at the CBS Web site in advance of your arrival. Availability is limited, but a little luck and the right timing can pay off.
