good location
The rooms are a good size compared to a lot of hotel rooms in Japan. This was the second time I stayed here. At first I was very disappointed, because I asked for a non-smoking room and got a room that smelled like a smoking room. It was dark and the carpet had a lot of stains. Fortunately they moved me to a cleaner, non smoking room. Only problem was the free wi-fi did not work in the room. It worked for someone else who was on another floor. The location is great. Very close to a mall. The subway is at the bottom of the mall. Train station is within walking distance.
Lot’s of restaurants in the mall near the hotel. More reasonable prices than eating at the hotel.

Nice hotel with spotty wireless internet
If one wants easy access to the convention center in Yokohama there are few hotels more convenient than the Intercontinental Grand. It has only one serious flaw--the internet doesn’t work so well. This was true 3 years ago and I found that this had not been fixed as of yet. If you are fortunate enough to get a room with strong coverage it is a great place to stay, but if not, there is no wired option except for 10 rooms in the entire hotel and even that is unreliable. You may find yourself sitting in the lobby to access your email. So if internet is critical for you I advise that you book elsewhere.
It is much easier to get to the hotel from Narita using the Limousine Bus rather than the train and a good deal at 3500 yen.

Great hotel with excellent services
We were surprised with the size of the room and its view. The location of the hotel is very convenience whether the guests want to use the train services, taking stroll on the sky-walk linking the buildings, or excess to the marina nearby. The services were first-class. We were never kept in line waiting more than few minutes without some attentive staff offering their assistance. There were several restaurants of various price-category available nearby.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Take a train to Chinatown in the early morning. Walk through the colorful China Town before lunch. Then stroll back along the seaside gardens and marina complexes. This will give you a full day sightseeing activities as well as a nice workout.
