Not what you’d expect
This motel is not what you expect. I looks like Days Inn bought a seedy motor lodge and threw their logo up on it. the first thing I noticed was that it is anbout 50 feet from the giant fence of the state prison. That coupled with the dents in the doors(it is a motor lodge so all doors are outside) gave the first impression that security might be an issue. My non-smoking room that I booked and prepaid for(through Expedia) was not available, only a smoking room. (i din’t think they still had those in minnesota) ...and you had to walk outside to get to the indoor pool. Due to allergies, I could not stay in the smoking room and the manager told me I had no options. I left and found a different hotel 40 miles away, and I paid rooms. I would not recommend this motel to anyone!

Met my Expectations
I picked this hotel solely for price, it was, after all a place to sleep (and maybe swim). I read previous reviews and I got what I expected. Yes, the rooms needed upgrades but they were neat and clean. The pool area is well maintained. The general manager was a very nice guy. All in all, decent

Did not look like pictures at all
Even though i requested a non smoking room we were put in smoking. We had to sleep with the windows open and go buy air freshners because the smell was so awful. Also- the pictures fail to show you that it is right on the highway next to a correctional facility- NOT IMPRESSED!! We would not return

Posted: 4-Sep-09When hotel got the reservation it came as a smoking reservation and we can’t modify those reservation. There was an error in the reservation system which I found out from the Days Inn corporate. There’s nothing we can do about hotel is next to the juvenile facility. So far we didn’t experience any problem from that side.
