Happy to be there.

The hotel fullfilled my expectations as regard being clean, comfortable, offering a good hospitality and in the heart of New York city. I hope I could be there in the future when I come back to New York and find it as fine as I left it.

Excellent service, very clean hotel in NY

I had researched hotels in NY for quite some time and the Hilton Garden Inn had very good reviews. I have to agree. The staff, particularly Tasha and Keven, were outstanding. The rooms were larger than most found in NY and were extremely clean. It was easy to get around NY from our hotel. I would highly recommend staying here.

Happy trip

Don’t let the surrounding city area of the hotel fool you. It seems that this hotel was the most up kept and renovated building in it’s area. Very clean, comfortable and well-kept hotel and staff.

New York City was great

Very comfortable. Modern decor, very nice. About a 3 minute walk to subway and then a 2 minute subway ride to time square.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Have to see time square at night. Take in the singing wait staff at the Stardust Diner and participate - great fun.

Excellent service & very friendly staff

We picked this hotel because of the excellent rating & reviews on Expedia. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff, concierge & everyone we encountered were extremely friendly & helpful. This was our fifth time in NYC and we love walking everywhere - this hotel is ideally situated for being able to walk up to Times Square & Central Park and we walked down to Greenwich Village/Chelsea and even Brooklyn Bridge.

Traveler's tip on dining

We had a wonderful brunch at Markt. Would also highly recommend the Chip Shop in Brooklyn Heights, whether you are english like us or from another country.

Great place for the price. Very Quiet and Clean.

This was a new area for us to stay. Not the best shopping or quaint neighborhood (flower district) but really very centrally located. The elevators were slow, BUT the rooms were very clean, smart, & comfortable. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. I felt like we really made the right choice and I would recommend to anyone that wasn’t looking for a lavish, expensive destination hotel & would rather spend their $ on other NY attractions.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Our room had a microwave and a fridge. They sold frozen microwavable food. It sounds cheesy but it might be perfect for someone who wanted a quick bite late at night. It is a convenience that I don’t often see. Great for a coffee warm up too. Starbucks just around the corner.

Will definitely go back there.

Great service, clean and well appointed rooms in a quiet street yet close enough to Mid-town attractions.

Nice hotel. Not so nice staff.

Overall my experience staying at this hotel was so so. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable however the staff was not so pleasant. I was treated very poorly during the check in process. The girl at the front desk was abrasive and gave me quite the attitude. While waiting in the lobby for the rest of my group to arrive she went to an employee only area and started complaining about me. I heard every word she said and was taken aback by the things she had to say. So if you’re looking for a clean hotel located in a central location in Manhattan go there. I just hope you’re lucky enough to have someone a bit more mature check you in.

Good Location - Convenient Place to Stay

My wife and I stay in New York City about 3 to 4 times a year, and this was our first time at this hotel. It was a pleasent surprise based on the cost of the stay. Many conveniences included the small cafe in the lobby where they have breakfast and a lounge in the evening. There was a convenience store to grab drinks and meals if needed, and the room had a microwave and fridge. Definately seemed to be geared towards business stays, but worked out great for a weekend getaway. Clean, modern rooms. There is a redline subway stop at the end of the block, and very close to Herald Square and Madison Square Park.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

This place is just a couple blocks from the large nightclubs in Chelsea and a short cab ride from the more low-key spots in the East and West Villages .

Will stay here again.

I would recommend this hotel as a good value and comfortable room right in the middle of the flower district. Easy access to most subways, shopping, restaurants and coffee shops.

Traveler's tip on dining

Mustang Sally’s, who also supplies room service for the hotel, is a nice comfortable pub/restaurant 1/2 block from the hotel that serves food late.

Very nice place

Everything about this place was nice. Malcolm in the lobby looked like the kind of guy you’d avoid on the street, but he was very professional and helpful and even helped us with a little surprise for my friend. I would definately go back.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Avoid the black taxi cabs!

Great value for NYC

The room was a bit small, but for the price it was a great value. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked great, & the room was clean. Everything you would want...

Good room, information about parking not clear...

The hotel was good, although the location made it hard to find. We thought that the hotel had a parking lot, but they contract the services of a parking garage which is about 4 blocks away from the hotel. We had to walk with our luggage to the hotel and back to the garage the next day. We were under the impression, per the hotel’s web page, that the parking was covered for one night. We used the parking for about 18 hours and ended up paying $45, even with the parking stub validated by the hotel. I will give credit to the room, which was clean. The TV picture was green and the bed comforter was old ...however, we were not interested in watching TV. The check out process was quick and painless.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

If you are staying at NY, leave your car at Penn Station, New Jersey and take the train to Manhattan. It’s cheaper and more convenient.

Excellent Experience!

Even though the room was kind of small, everything was amazing. The bed was the best bed I’ve ever slept on and the people were extremely helpful! Located close to everything it’s a great place to stay!

Good value

Staff was cheerful and accommodating. Physical plant can use some freshening, though the room itself was quite comfortable. The location, although visually unattractive, is very convenient for Times Square, Midtown and Penn Station. In general, a good combination for the price.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Carry your walking shoes. It’s hardly worth the bother or expense to use taxi or subway if your destination is Penn Station to the south or a Broadway theatre to the north.

Good Stay...

The hotel was pretty comfortable. My sister recommended this hotel. She previously stayed here in April. But, it’s not exactly a standout hotel where you’ll see it in big lights. From the outside, you may miss it if you’re walking by. But, it was very nice, very clean. The staff was very accommodating as well. Don’t necessarily expect a great view from your window. My room window faced some apartments. I got to take a peak at two guys grilling (I think) on their deck. Please don’t let that deter you from staying there. It was a great, pleasant stay.

nice hotel, slow elevators

a new and very nice hotel in a qutie good location, if you want to walk to both midtown and chelsea. the rooms are not big but very nice, clean and everything is new. It may sound like an anecdote, but the following is really annoying: there are only 2 elevators for about 14 floors, and you can wait for 10 minutes to go get down or go up to your room. But in overall: very nice place. would defently come back.

Excellent

We had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Chelsea. Arrived at noon and were allowed to check-in right away. The room was clean and comfortable with all amenities - microwave, fridge, coffee maker + free WiFi. Great location with everything within walking distance. Will definitely stay there again.

Affordable hotel in Chelsea

Pros: Close to Penn Station and easily accessible by subway (N/R or 1). Nice rooms, friendly staff. Cons: Slow elevators, expensive breakfast (pick up something at a neighborhood deli instead!)

Good place to stay

The room was clean and comfortable. People were very friendly (which is not always the case in hotels in NY city). The hotel is close to the subway. I have no complaints. I would definitely stay there again.

Nice place midtown

Although it’s not in the most charming area of Manhattan, the hotel is new, comfortable and the staff very friendly. There are two subway stations near by, one at 7th Av. and the other at Broadway both at 28th street.
