Good location, clean, good value
Kalorama Guest House is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and within a convenient, short walk of local conference hotel (Mariott), National Zoo and Metro station. Good, reasonably priced restaurants are two blocks away. The room was very clean, quiet, comfortable and had a good bed, radio/clock (no TV), nice bathroom with shower/bath. My room had great AC. On site managers were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was minimalistic with bagels, waffels, cereal, juice, hard-boiled eggs,coffee. Cooked bacon was available for those craving fat. The only problem with breakfast is that it isn’t served until 7:30 AM on weekdays. If you’re trying to make an 8:00 AM event or are an early riser, scheduling isn’t convenient...so you may need to get your breakfast elsewhere. Overall, I was very satisfied considering the very economical rate (for D.C.) and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it or return for another stay.
