Worst Experience Ever

The room was dirty and smelly. There was bad smell in the toilet, which was coming from a sink hole. The continental breakfast was terrible. The person at the front desk was not kind at all.

Decent but overpriced

The room had a slight musty smell (which I got used to after a few minutes). Otherwise it was clean. It was fully furnished in standard American hotel room fashion, with two beds, TV, etc., (though as a business traveler I would have appreciated an iron and board), and the furniture was in good shape; still, the quality of the furniture is below what I would have expected for the price I paid. The front desk staff was friendly, the breakfast was adequate (and included), and I had no problems with noise. There was ample parking though I did not come by car.

Meadow Court Inn Joke

The motel was booked for 2 nights. Upon arrival Wes noticed it was old and the rooms were not comfortable. It appeared they attempted to update an old motel with modern asseccories. The second day of stay, when we returned to the room that evening it had never been touched by maid service. No new towels, they did not enter the room. I went to front desk and advied of condition. They offered to upgrade and move me. I did not want to move at 11:00 pm, i got new towels. The continental breakfast was the worst I have seen for breakfast offerings of that type. On the positive side, it was convenient to shopping within walking distance. If you stay here upgrade to next room. Family member stayed their the next week and said it was fine.

Shopping was nice, with many things to chose from.

Very convenient

The biggest plus for this hotel is its convenient location. It is right on the main road coming into town from the freeway, but after you have gone through most of town so the traffic is toned down. It is right across the street from Wegman’s and convenient to Ithaca College. Ask for a room away from the road if you are a light sleeper.

OK in a Pinch

Rooms were clean, but outdated. The bathrooms were tiny and not well laid out. It was a place to stay the night in a clean comfortable bed, but it was overpriced for what was there. The restaurant was not open on Sunday or Monday-- and not on Saturday for breakfast so we never got there. The continental breakfast was a loaf of bread, some bagels and a toaster, coffee and juice and cellophane wrapped sweet rolls placed on several tables in the lobby- not inviting!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

near Buttermilk Falls and Wegmans a great grocery store. Easy to get to downtown Ithaca and both the colleges. Easy to access the Cayuga Wine Trail.

Don’t expect to sleep

I booked the hotel for a quick one-night stay on a business trip. Our room was right next to the outdoor hotel bar, where guests were loud and rowdy until about 2 a.m. We called the front desk three times after midnight asking them to get the guests to quiet down. Each time, they said they’d "try." On the third call, I said that if they didn’t succeed I would call the cops. The noise died down soon after. In the morning, we woke to discover that the same unruly guests had dumped the remnants of their pizzas and a salad all over several cars in the parking lot, including ours. Gross.

Excellent value for money

I booked the Meadow Court Inn because it offered me the lowest rate of any hotel listed for Ithaca, NY (less than half the price of the major chain hotels), and I was delighted to find the same size room, plus microwave and fridge, in addition to a complimentary continental breakfast on weekends (Saturday through Court, is quite nice and reasonably priced, as well. It is also convenient to downtown Ithaca, a brisk walk away, with supermarkets and drugstores across the street, and department stores close by, also on foot. Why pay more?

Traveler's tip

For convenience and economy in Itrhaca, the meadow Court Inn is my pick.

Worst hotel/motel

Sheets dirty, cigarette burns on carpet & bed cover. Sink held up by a 2x4 wood plank. Carpet was tacky. Will not stay there if this hotel/motel had the last room available in Ithaca. Price paid was highway robbery, taking advantage of school move in. At least provide clean rooms!!!!!!!

Terrible

The room had an overall funky strong smell. Parts of the room actually smelled to urine. It was a nightmare to get rest in there.

Too pricey for a very old and small hotel

The staff was very good. The front desk lady let us check in early and was very hepful. The hotel was very small and old and had an odd smell.

Convenient place

Across from mall on edge of town, safe area, comfortable and short drive to Cornell, reasonably priced and recently renovated. Good place!

Don’t stay here

The room we stayed in was not in good repair and should be rated unacceptable. Among the problems with our room were: 1) The room temperature could not be regulated as the heater/air conditioner did not work. In order to stay in the room, we had to huddle under the blankets fully clothed, or keep the room door open and open the back screenless window as it was warmer out than in. 2) The water pressure was so high that the shower head (probably with a flow regulator) could not handle it so the water came spraying out at the joint above the head, spraying over the shower curtain, flooding the bathroom, clothes and all. 3) The cabinetless sink was held up in the front corner with a table leg!!!

Last Option

Attending Ithaca College function. Small room, very small beds, small TV. Felt like the floor dipped. Up late, then forget about hot water; all the early risers used it up. For the front desk, this was an acceptable reason for no hot water. They don’t get it.

Convenient Location

Late arrival and early departure did not give us a chance to take in all the amenities. That being said, the rooms were clean and the location worked well with our travel plans. Friendly staff despite the late hours.

Hidden Gem

I didn’t think the hotel would be that good. It and its service exceeded our expectations.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Wegman’s is right across the street. There is nothing pertaining to food that you can’t find there.

Nice and friendly place for a bottom price

The hotel was priced at a bargain, which attracted me, but it was certainly worth the money. Nothing outstanding or fancy, just a friendly place. They were kind enough to upgrade me to their "deluxe" room so I don’t know what the standard rooms look like. Fast internet available at no charge in the deluxe section.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Go skiing in Greek Mountain, just about 40 minute drive from there.

Okay stay

Have stayed previously in the newer separate addition in the past which was much better. This room in the main part of the motel did not seem to be vacuumed and the bed was very uncomfortable. The place only had about 3 cars in the lot that night, but it seemed that all tenants were grouped right next to one another and walls were not very well insulated to sound.

cheap hotel. do not expect much.

I stayed there for one night. It was the cheapest one that I could find. The room was old and poorly maintained. Since it was cheap, i did not expect any better...

basic room

Close to everything in Ithaca especially route 13, walking distance to bakeries, restaurants, and grocery store (2-10 blocks). Hotel staff were very nice even when arriving at 2am AND they let us use the employee kitchen to heat our leftovers in the microwave. The rooms are basic, nothing fancy, weird light in the bathroom, paper thin towels (but hey- what do you expect for the price!). The best thing- we weren’t rushed in the morning to leave (i’ve stayed at some fancy places that come by with a wake up knock to get you up and out the door by check out). There was also free coffee in the lobby.

Traveler's tip on dining

Ithaca bakery is within walking distance, a thai restaurant, and wegmans grocery store that serves lots of tasty things.

Would not go back there

Stayed there two nights. Hotel was very basic. Service was so so. Would rather stay at a better known hotel brand in the future. Not good value for money. Wireless signal was not strong enough to reach my room.

fairly decent

Stayed for one night only, overall I think it is a fine place, pretty quiet as well, not to far from all the local interests by driving. Like the restaurant right a cross the parking lot, the price of the breakfast was unbeatable.

Borderline discusting

First impression walking into my room was "Eww, what’s that smell?" The room felt generally dingy but the worst part was the suspicious hole in the ceiling tile directly above the shower... Overall, it was creepy and overpriced.

Good room

The hot water was not in abundance all the time. As you can guess this was annoying. The ice machine at the front office isn’t the greatest. Other than that I had no problems. My two bed room was clean and free of any odors. My room happened to not have an alarm clock or any clock; I didn’t ask for a clock since I brought my own alarm clock.
