Nice Hotel
If you are not there for the club, be sure to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel. Otherwise the club will keep you up all night.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
We stayed at this hotel because we were running the NJ Marathon. It was clean and not far from the race expo. We had an overall great experience.

Not impressed
There are very limited hotel options right on the beach. The location of the Empress Hotel couldn’t be better. The staff is courteous and helpful, very pleasant. The rooms are very basic and sketchy with very gross stains. It’s an old hotel with a face lift. It’s a lot nicer than the Berkley Carteret which is the only other option right on the beach.

Clean and Friendly
We stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel was everything we expected and more. Just one word of caution....Since the hotel is also a nightclub make sure you don’t have a room over the dance floor if want to go to bed early. The rooms on the second floor are quite loud. Other than that we had a great time.

Check out Stella’s Marina across the street for some great food and awesome service.
