Comfortable and pleasant experience

We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to friends we were visiting. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable beds and delicious breakfast. I enjoyed the variety of pastries. My kids raved about the waffles, and the following day they were disappointed when waffles were not being served. Luckily, I saw the chef and mentioned the waffles. He immediately offered to make us some, and everyone was thrilled. I love that kind of enthusiastic service! When visiting our friends again, we will definitely return!

In the room, there are water bottles and snacks that are connected to a sensor. My kids were looking at and moving some of the items. They then read the note which said the room would be charged immediately when an item was removed. The hotel was understanding and credited us for the items, but you can save yourself the extra call if you know that ahead of time.

Noisy

Hotel was clean and staff was nice but walls are very thin and other guests were coming and going at all hours, did not get much sleep. Also, skip the breakfast, it is very expensive and not worth it. Go to one of the many coffee shops in the area for better, cheaper breakfast.

this was my second visit. my grandchildren loved the pool. everything was great especially the mall which is in walking distance from the hotel

Really Nice Hotel

The rooms were beautiful (bathrooms were especially cool with modern doors and with wood floors) and the hotel was incredibly convenient. The parking, while not officially a part of the hotel, was easy to navigate and the subway station under the hotel was a big plus. My only complaint would be that the hotel did not respond to several noise complaints we had lodged when our party-hearty neighbors came in at 4am and stood right outside our door and then in their room yelling for 45 minutes. Other than that I would give it a 5-star satisfaction rating.

Request a queen size room with the pull out couch bed if you are traveling with one or two kids. It was comfortable for our 8 year old and other than the noise disturbances next door he slept like a log on it. :)

Nice Hotel

I was pleased overall with the hotel, the front desk service was very very pleasant, however, there was no hot tub in the pool area, which I missed, plus the parking was extra each night, which when factored in to the hotel price, made it a little more than I thought it was worth.

Upgraded to Deluxe room, well worth it

Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Bed was comfortable. Shower in Deluxe room was great.

Very Comfortable!

Nice, cozy hotel. Location! Everything is near: shopping, transportation... Lots of place to eat, just right there.

Very Nice Hotel

Very nice room, parking under the hotel was included in the rate. Rooms were nice, great view of the park. Elevators are fast. The lobby is not extravagant, but clean and nice. Subway access to downtown was in same complex, very convienient.

The only drawback is the very small rooms, bathrooms and great and spacious tho.

The rooms are really nice, but the hallways need some renovations. And it’s way too cold in the hallways. But the room is nice, comfy and clean. Location is pretty good right on Yonge Street and over the subway station.

Excellent value and amenities.

Great location, good hotel.

It’s a great hotel in a good area. The room was a little tight for 3 people, but perfectly adequate and clean. Just bear in mind that this is not downtown, but the surrounding neighborhood is quite vibrant on its own. There’s a Metro station directly underneath the hotel, so downtown is just a train ride away.

Other reviewers have mentioned the parking - true, it’s extra ($17 CAD a night at this writing)- but this is the "validated" rate, and you do have full in-out priveleges, AND the parking facility is directly underneath the hotel. A pretty good deal, I thought.

Terrific place to sepnd a few nights.

Nothing Special

Last week I spent a few nights at the Novotel. Check in was completed in seconds, due to me having my reservation done on Expedia, but the person before me took about 15 minutes. They only had one person at the fron desk, so I had to wait it out. My room was clean, and somewhat comfortable, yet I had an issue with the shower. All of the water goes into the bathroom, so get ready to line the floor up with all of your towels. Otherwise, a descent place to stay, nothing more than that.

Loved the Novotel!

We stayed 2 nights while in town to see the Blue Jays - Red Sox games. I loved the room. The bed was very comfortable, and there were plenty of towels in the bathroom. All of the staff, maids included, were very friendly and helpful. An added bonus is that the TTC (Subway) is right downstairs, along with some shops and food. I would definitely stay here again!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

2 tips - first, use your credit/debit card wherever you can, so your bank at home will do the currency conversion. Second - purchase a family pass for the TTC. At $9, it’s cheaper than paying per trip.

Great Stay

Hotel was affordable, comfortable, and right on the Subway System. Could only be better if it was closer to downtown.

Where is my car?

Hotel parking was expensive and yet very confusing. The hotel parking facility is shared with others and hotel signs are not very effective. We ran into other hotel guests who were also having trouble finding their cars. The hotel staff should have given better directions instead of just saying parking is next door.

Not impressed except with the staff.

A mediocre facility with top prices. The room smelled like wet dog. However, the staff almost made up for the facility shortcomings with their friendliness and good cheer.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Toronto’s subway access is near the site. Lots of local resturants within walking distance. You’ll love the local parks as a place to relax.

Small rooms but good location

We had a party of 3 adults and the room was rather cramped. You could choose either 2 double beds which left no space to walk in the room or one Queen and a pullout sofa bed. Plus points - very convenient location as there is a shopping mall next door and indoor access to the subway which means not having to trek in the cold to catch a train. Housekeeping staff were efficient and friendly as well.

Terribly uncomfortable beds, I slept on the floor

We stayed at the Novotel for 4 nights in April 2008. The bed in the Novation King room was so saggy (dips like a bowl when you lay on it) that I didn’t sleep at all that night and had a terrible back ache the whole next day. I slept on the floor the following nights, which was not much better. The staff was very unknowledgable about attractions, restuarants, shopping. They all told me, "sorry I’m not from this area, I don’t know". All in all, it was a very disappointing stay and I would not go back to that Novotel.

We really enjoyed ourv 2 day stay. We used the pool.Thecroom was very clean and comfortable.The staff were very friendly. Would stay there again. Very near to other places and subway.

Not bad!

This hotel was perfect. Subway was literally right below the hotel! Bathroom was clean and shower pressure fantastic. Not much of a view since our windows looked right into an office building next door but overall I would definitely stay here again.

Great Restaurants located within walking distance. We ate at Moxie’s for lunch. Had a broccoli/cheese soup & half of a sandwich. Very good-pricey though. Microbrew was an amber beer. Also very good. Dinner we went to Milestones Bar & Grill. Excellent dinner! Highly recommend this place. Bartender was very helpful in recommending places to go and also dishes to eat there. This was also pricey- but in Toronto what isn’t? Starbucks at the corner of the hotel!
