Great Location, Great Value
I cannot think of anything that was bad or poor about this hotel. It’s just a little south of Pier 60 and Shepherds, and once we arrived we didn’t have to get back into the car until we left to go back to the airport. There are several great restaurants within minutes walking distance, and an IHOP on premises. This hotel is not directly on the gulf, but close enough that we were able to watch the sunset over the water from our balcony. The hotel’s bar, like most in the area, is a “tiki” bar on the patio next to the pool. I highly recommend the Rum-Runners. Our room was a south-southwest facing “gulf view” king suite with a balcony that overlooked the channel into the bay, which was about 100 to 120 feet away with the hotel’s private beach and heated salt-water swimming pool in-between. Being a private beach, if you are looking for “long walks on the beach” then this may not be for you, but if you are looking to spend quality time with your loved ones without thousands of strangers running around and without having to leave a guard on your stuff on the shore, then you won’t be disappointed. If you want a larger beach, the public beach is just a couple of miles north.

Even better than before
We have stayed in this hotel several times. Before the remodel, it was very nice and comfortable. Now, it is even better! I even recorded the type of matress so I can purchase one for my home. Very clean, friendly service, and great beach, pool, and tiki bar area! Great value for the money. Our children loved it too!
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
We went to nearby Publix and bought lunch meats to store in our room fridge (included in all rooms) to save some money on lunches. Kids were very happy!

Good location, would have loved closer to the beach!!!
Liked the size of the hotel, but it was pretty full, liked the IHOP next to the hotel, but it was too small and would take forever to bring you the food...it is a lot better to ask for the food to go and take it to your room!! Thank you
