Enjoyed our stay

We were glad we stayed at Le Bleu. It was the perfect location to explore Park Slope by foot and also to get to Manhattan quickly by subway, and without switching trains. The street that the hotel is situated on is not pretty, in fact it is downright not nice. But if you cross the street and walk a block you are in one of the best shopping areas in Brooklyn. The hotel itself is cool and quite nice, and the staff is very friendly. Great amenities like complimentary parking, water and snacks. The bed is SOOOO comfortable! We had read a review online that the walls are very thin, which is true, but we only heard our neighbor talking once in two days.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you are arriving late, call the hotel so they hold your room. I read online that they sometimes give booked rooms away. We called ahead and we had no problem. Also, you should arrive as early as possible to get a parking spot since they have a small lot. If you are out of luck, don’t worry: There is a pay lot across the street and then you will be able to secure a free spot in the morning after some of the guests have left.

Friendly staff, fun decor and great beds

This is one of the few hotels in Brooklyn and the only one I know of in Park Slope. The hotel staff is the friendliest my wife and I have ever encountered in ANY New York hotel. The beds have a feather-top and great pillows too, which makes for a great night’s sleep. The decor in the hotel is really fun, and the rooms have enormous plasma televisions with hundreds of Direct TV stations. The included breakfast is nice, but only consists of carbs.

Walk one street over to 5th Ave for some GREAT dining options.

Nightmare

The hotel was located in a commercial area between vacant lots and auto mechanics. The building itself was nice and the staff too. But the rooms were the just horrendous. The hotel was built on a shoestring budget. The shower was not partitioned from the bathroom except with a slightly sloped floor toward a drain and a skimpy shower curtain. The entire bathroom got wet. The shower handle didnt work properly. The shower curtain fell down. There was confetti used as stuffing in a "gift basket" with some cookies and water. The confettio ended up all over the room. Just a cheap hotel charging outrageous room rates.

Sleek and Modern, Good for Close Friends

Sleek, ultra modern hotel in a location with few competitors. Very nice staff, lovely breakfast included, rooms very comfortable. A couple of quibbles: 1. There is no separate bathroom. You have to be very friendly with whomever you’re sharing the room with -- the showers are plain glass and part of the room. The toilets are shielded with frosted glass, but also part of the room. 2. No wifi, but there is free wired Internet access, and they provided us with an ethernet cable 3.Especially on weekends, the (free) parking lot can fill up, forcing you to either park on the street or in the paid lot across the street

Good value for staying in NYC/Brooklyn

Lots of white tile in the bathroom, so it appeared to be less clean than it probably was. Great bed. A/C was right next to the bed, so it was a good thing the comforter was there, otherwise I would have froze.

Brooklyn Visit

This was my first visit to Brooklyn and I was worried about picking a hotel off of the internet but our stay couldn’t have been better! The staff was always courteous and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable. My daughter and I were in town to find an apartment for her and the location of the hotel was convenient to mass transit. All in all, a great choice.

Best in Brooklyn

This is a great place to stay. I am a frequent traveler to New York and always stay at the Hotel Le Bleu. The staff goes out of their way to make sure I am taken of. I am looking forward to the Vue Restaurant being open on my next trip there.

Traveler's tip on dining

Check out the restaurants on 5th Avenue.

Can’t believe it’s in Brooklyn!

From the staff to the accommodations, the hotel was elegant, welcoming and very European in tone. Chic and Euro-modern. We enjoyed our room and stay and can’t wait to come back. It’s a nice change from a business hotel or a motel and no more expensive than these chains. It was well worth every penny we spent. they even stocked the room with free welcome nibbles and sodas and even more wonderful, books about Brooklyn and Brooklyn maps. One of the advantages of their location is that they are only one block away from Fifth Avenue with many wonderful restaurants like Belleville, Moutarde and Al Di La and a short walk to the subway. Truly a find! Don’t tell everyone, we won’t be able to find a vacancy.

Traveler's tip on dining

Ignore the booklet with the list of local restaurants - they leave out the really good ones. One of the advantages of their location is that they are only one block away from Fifth Avenue with many wonderful restaurants like Belleville, Moutarde and Al Di La and a short walk to the subway into Manhattan. Walk up and down Fifth Avenue and try one of the restaurants. Miriam’s on Fifth and Prospect is great for an Israeli lunch.

Renovations in progress

Neat small hotel. Quiet, comfortable. Open shower stall design a little weird but acceptable. Location requires a bit of walking or short cab rides but convenient to Brooklyn attractions.

Wonderful interior design

The rooms themselves were striking visually, splendidly laid out for one person (and the glass shower does have an optional curtain), and all possible needs were addressed. When I was there, the breakfast was served in a little corridor, so you had no choice but to carry the food up to your room. The desk staff was friendly, the breakfast staff less so. The location is fairly grim, and the prices are high for the area, but the hotel is to be praised for taking the risk of setting up there. I hope it is successful, as the room was a real pleasure to inhabit!

Comfort and excellent service

Hotel Le Blue was a surprising oasis on the edge of Park Slope in Brooklyn. The hotel staff was extremely accomodating and the room was delightfully comfortable in a trendy modern style. I would highly recommend these accomodations.

So Loud, So Loud

3 changes would make this hotel a great place to stay: 1. Remove the blue lights from under the headboard, they’re "attached" with velcro and fell on our heads while trying to sleep. 2. INSULATE YOUR WALLS. It was basically like sleeping in the barracks with ever other person on you floor and all the noise from outside. We could hear everyone talk, walk, drive, listen to their tv’s, etc. It was the loudest place I’ve ever slept in my life. My husband and I got like a collective 20 minutes of sleep a night. And we live in a loud neighborhood in Los Angeles, so we’re used to sleeping through city noises. 3. Extend the curtain all the way around the bathroom. We’ve stayed at hotels with a similar feel, but they were much more Luxury feeling and had a large heavier curtain to separate the bathroom from the bedroom. My husband and I are pretty comfortable with each other, but I can’t imagine anyone other than married people dealing well with that space. All in all, every local who we told where we were staying laughed at us and told us it was a HORRIBLE hotel. Apparently there are plenty of nicer places to stay in Brooklyn. I recommend you find one of those.

Looking forward to a future stay, it was a great experience.

The room was very nice. We absolutely loved it from the moment the bellman walked us in and began to show us all the bells & whistles. The complimentary breakfast was also a big plus. Overall, I would give it a 4.7 out of 5 rating, only because the restaurant is not yet built...

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Be sure to enjoy the complimentary breakfast, they have a little bit of everything.

Le Bleu

I was unimpressed...the room was like a new dorm room in style...I will not stay there again...the shower has a thin curtain separating it from the sleeping area, and the bathroom door is a glass shower door...no thanks.

Nice place with two serious flaws

This is a tough one. First the pluses. The hotel building itself is nice. Recently built or renovated. Furnishings and fixtures new and very comfortable. As noted by at least one other, not a lot of privacy to the bathroom facilities. (P.S. the shower has a thermostat built into it, set at 100 degrees; easy to set higher once you recognize it.) The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is barely better to have than not. The flaws: (1) the hotel is in an unattractive location. Next to a taxi repair shop that is thronged by taxis, many parked on the street, needing its services. The hotel backs up to a large U-Haul lot, and while the distant view -- Manhattan to the right, the Statue of Liberty to the left (tiny but visible) -- is nice, the nearer view is late-19th century industrial awful. You don’t feel actually physically threatened out on the sidewalk during daylight hours, but it’s also something you don’t want to spend a lot of time doing. (2) Saturday night to Sunday morning, a large group that had apparently brought its own electronics, was partying on the upper floor so loudly that it should have been audible on Staten Island. The hotel did nothing to control it, and the noise didn’t stop until 5 a.m. Perhaps a one-time thing, but I doubt that I’ll go back, notwithstanding that I otherwise thought the hotel was OK, net bottom line.

Good and confortable stay!

The hotel is conveniently located for the Park Slope area of Brooklyn and walking distance from restaurants and the park. The rooms were clean and confortable. It is slightly expensive but all in all it is worth it. I would recommend this hotel.

Modern, Attractive Work in Progress

Decor of room and hotel were fresh, bright and modern--very attractive, with European feel. Staff were nice, helpful, but inexperienced. Hotel was partially still under construction (restaurant, breakfast room, elevator), but the rooms were comfortable, though small. Location was very good in Park Slope area of Brooklyn--near subways and many interesting restaurants.

Pricey for what you get. Although just opened, don’t think it will wear well over time. Restaurant still not opened although promised for Spring.

Nice little hotel

This hotel was small but nice. Be aware they have a very limited amount of parking space. Walking distance to 5th which has lots of food and bars. Overall pleasant stay.

The best bed in the world!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the first night after our wedding and before the departure for honeymoon. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. It is a clean hotel, very modern-looking inside, and the beds are the softest! We loved it so much that we stayed one more night after the return from honeymoon. The manager was so wonderful, that he volunteered to do a favor for us that our wedding planner failed to do (to get the tuxes returned).

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The area around the hotel is a little gloomy - it is an industrial area. However, if you go north and east (just several blocks) you can find good dining and bars. This is a developing and very cozy area.

Still Getting Their Sea Legs

The Good: 4 blocks from subway station; 1 block from 5th Ave. shops/ restaurants; clean; comfy beds. The Less Good: After being out all day, our room wasn’t done when we returned; many of the staff are not yet well trained; the restaurant is not yet open (and breakfast leaves much to be desired); the hotel is on an odd block next to a Taxi lot and a U-Haul lot (not a great place for women to walk home alone to at night) Other: Make sure you’re sharing your room with someone with whom you are intimate. The bathroom is not very private/ discrete.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

There’s a button in the shower that allows you to get hot, rather than tepid, water. Our bellman didn’t point this out and we took tepid showers for two days.
