Convenient to Freeway, but that was the only saving grace
The hotel is right off the 101 Freeway. So from a convenience perspective, great. As for location of ANYTHING to do, not so great. For restaurants, you have an IHOP, an In & Out and some local restaurant. If you drive one exit further north, there is another Ramada in the middle of a number of restaurants, theaters etc. Next time, I am going to spend the extra $20 for the convenience. The room was OK. The only disturbing thing in the room was the sliding glass door to the patio. In the middle of the night, the room was hot, so I got up and saw that the sliding glass door had a "chain lock" on it so that it could be opened a little to cool the room off. That is when I realized that the lock on the sliding glass door did not work at all. Not cool
Stop a few exits south in Santa Barbara proper or drive one exit north. Things to do. Here you can get in your car and drive. The people who run the motel are extremely friendly, and if price is the main objective, this is a good value overall. I am not a price shopper, I am an amenities shopper.

Service was outstanding, Hotel a great value
Someone back in the 70s put a lot of thought and design smarts into this place. Gradens and ponds are way above average and this overall is a wonderful, restful place to stay, swim and hang out. The breakfasts arent bad either. Halfway between the SB airport and SB so its an ideal location.
Traveler's tip on dining
Beach bar cafe on the beach at Goleta is my kind of place. Get down funky and great comfort food at reasonable prices.
