Dingy and depressing
Despite the fact that we had a non-smoking room, the hallway and the room itself smelled like smoke. As I saw other reviews with a similar comment we didnt bother asking for a room switch. When we ran the air conditioner it alleviated the worst of the stench. The bathroom looked like a seedy motel with water stains on the sealing, peeling caulk in the tub, and a paint job that looked 15 years old. The free WiFi didnt work in our hotel room. Had to go down to the very small lobby to get any connection. The pool -- the main reason we chose the hotel -- was the lone bright spot for us. Our kids, six and three, went twice during the night we spent there. The Mexican restaurant in the hotel served quite simply the worst Mexican food Ive ever had. They charged a ton for a infinitesimally small side of guacamole (that didnt even taste good). The entrees were universally awful, including the kids pizza (which should be hard to mess up). The only thing that was actually good were the chips and salsa.

Not too bad
My daughter, her 2 year old and I stayed here for two days. We were told the room was a renovated one-it was not but it wasnt bad at all, just a bit worn but then again so am I. It was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, and I loved having a micro wave in the room especially with a small child. The food and service were great at the restaurant and the pool was clean and lovely. The only problem we were upset about was that we returned to the hotel at midnight being very tired and found the elevator was out of service. We had to carry a sleeping child up five flights of stairs and I have back problems. It was not good. Somehow it was fixed by morning, thank heavens. I think we would stay there again.
