General Information
What to expect: Completely renovated in 2006, the Aqua Waikiki Wave is centrally located about 1.5 blocks from Waikiki Beach. Tropical rainbow shower trees, with clusters of yellow-and-pink flowers in the spring and summer, line the Kuhio Avenue entrance. The white-marble lobby features paintings of the famed Duke Kahanamoku riding the Waikiki waves in the 1920s. The hotel is next to the open-air International Market Place, brimming with shops, artisan stands, and eateries amid towering banyan trees.
Amenity highlights: The Big Kahuna restaurant serves tropical drinks, beer, pizza, burgers, generous salads, and finger foods in a tiki-tropical setting.
