Modern, attractive hotel. Excellent location in Birmingham. Walking distance to everything.
Hotel was attractive, clean, modern, quiet, with friendly and helpful staff. Location was perfect, right at the base of the hill from the train station from airport. We were able to walk to everything (dont miss the Manchester Museum of Science & Industry!) Our room was well equipt with thick towels, comfortable bed, coffee set for AM, refrigerator and minibar, a safe, and even a full computer which was complimentary. When in Manchester, I cant imagine staying anywhere else.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Manchester is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. The Museum of Science & Industry is a 5 minute walk from City Inn. The first computer is there (Baby) as well as an outstanding display and tour of the early machines used in the textile industry which the region is famous for. Your guides, through demonstration of the machines, take you through the process from raw cotton through finished woven fabric, Absolutely fascinating, very well done.
