Room was too small
Although the staff an Vincci Palace were delightful, I would try another Valencia hotel next time. The reason being the small size of the room. My husband and I are not a primadonnas when it comes to hotel room size, but this room pushed the limit. There was about 3" of hanging space for clothes. And the bathroom felt as if it were in the room. Also, our room was on the street and noisy. On the positive side, linens were crisp and white, towels were nice and location is good and next El Ventorro, where we had our best meal in Spain!
Traveler's tip on dining
Have lunch or dinner at El Ventorro, check their hours as they are sproadic.

Good location, beautiful building but...
Whats up with all the black and purple velvet decor inside? Can someone say tack-y? It really felt like a goth festival inside the amazing modernist building. This is a newly refurbished hotel --they just finished it in 2007 --, and the location is unbeatable. But beware of all the velvet and curtains that make the rooms very dark, the lack of privacy in the bathroom (it has a glass wall that can be covered by a curtain but doesnt hide anything in case you want/need some privacy even if youre with someone you trust). The wireless doesnt work (cable is available), and the breakfast is not very impressive. But plenty of shops around for a good breakfast.

Great value - a bit quirky
New hotel, great location. I had a smoking room on the 4th floor, but couldnt smell any smoke. Lower floors on street side would have been noisy and less sunny. Very strange that the bathroom wall is basically glass, and the grey screen that was supposed to offer partial privacy was not opaque. i didnt care too much, as i was on my own, but i did feel i had to close the street-facing curtains at the front of the room before using the bathroom!
