Bad Neighborhood
The inside of the hotel is modern, but the outside is unattractive and in a run down neighborhood with supermarkets and auto repair shops. The hotel offers free parking but it is only 3 spots in front of the hotel. They offered to let us use the manager’s spot when she left but forgot to call us. Their friend owns a repair shop next door and we parked in his driveway since he was getting ready to close and the next day was Sunday. The breakfast was OK with some homemade cake, but no fresh fruit. The room is a loft over the reception and the poor waitress had to run up and down stairs to get more coffee, cake, butter.

A diamond in the rough
A lovely little hotel, very modern and comfortable. The price was amazing, given the quality of the hotel. Surrounding neighborhood is a bit run down (but most of Sicily is that way). We had a beautiful view of the bay, not far from Ortygia (could see it from our room). Breakfast was good, not a huge selection but what they had was tasty. Would definitely stay there again and refer friends to this hotel.

Excellent Value
This hotel is very conveniently located, near the bus and train stations, and about a fifteen minute walk to Ortygia Island and, in the opposite direction, the Archaelogical Park. The rooms are quite small, but very clean and the bathrooms are brand new. The two blocks on either side of the hotel are a bit seedy, but did not seem to be unsafe. The best thing about Hotel Centrale is the staff, who spoke Engligh and could not have been more helpful and pleasant.
