Restful vacation

Beautiful spot looking at the mountains... Everything was professional, courteous and of extremely good quality- The hotel staff was ’top notch’ - food at the restaurant (and wine) was well worth every dime spent - We used services at the spa for two days and took advantage of the outdoor courtyard area - loved every minute of it - !! The ice cold water was the best (flavored with cucumber and ??) Pool was clean - adult pool nice too. It was ’way better’ than i had expected...

Great getaway, worth your money if you get a good deal

If I had paid full price for this hotel, without the perks that were included in our rate, I would be a little disappointed. The negatives first: we forgot toothpaste and while they were very helpful and promised to send some to our room when we asked at the front desk, it never arrived. This was the case with a few requests, including extra towels. Other negatives - they never cleaned our room on the Saturday, the TV didn’t work properly (mainly the problem is the pay per view), the pool area had a lot of towels laying around, while the downstairs room was lovely, you could hear the guests in the room upstairs stomping around, and the worst of all - the sheets were either dirty or badly stained, which is just disgusting. Pretty much all of the reviews are honest and real. The positives, for the great rate we paid and the perks (a daily resort credit), it was great value. The room was beautiful and comfortable, we felt very relaxed there - it was lovely and spacious. The bathroom was clean, and while not luxurious, was fine. The pools are not as big as most resorts out there, but they are clean and refreshing and weren’t so crowded that you couldn’t find a chair to relax in. The restaurant was very nice, although the paella was more like risotto (creamy), the food in general looked delicious, and the appetizer we ordered was exquisite.

Traveler's tip

The spa is small, and kind of expensive for what you get out of it, I think. It was also kind of noisier than I’m used to, no ’spa voices’. Overall, we were happy with our experience, and the value for money was incredible. I would recommend it to friends, and if you are reading the reviews on expedia, you won’t be surprised by anything - they are all quite accurate.

Peaceful Get-A-Way

The hotel’s staff was very helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a quiet peaceful get-a-way i truely recommend this hotel. We went for 4th of July weekend and the hotel offered movies by the pool, spa credits to spa & coupon offers to their restuarant. The only hick-up is get early to the main pool the seating runs out quickly. Possibly need to add more chairs. Coctails by the pool were yummy and offered free COLD water in 112 degree heat :) Staff was excellent, thank you again we will be back!!!

Not impressed

We had reservations for 2 adults, 2 kids. We were put in a room at the furthest end of the hotel, near the adults only pool. The grass was dry. The A/C did not cool the room down very well. The in-room pizza was terrible. My wife and daughter did enjoy the spa treatment.

So relaxing and beautiful. The place we’ll stay while in the desert.

Had a wonderful stay. Beautiful grounds and wonderful restaurant. Especially loved the Gazpacho. Loved sitting by the pool and relaxing. The spa is perfect.

Not bad - but not the luxury expected

My wife and I just returned from a relaxing Anniversary weekend. I have to admit that for a 4-star rating, I was expecting more from this a "luxury" hotel. The descriptions amade the hotel grounds sound much nicer than it really is. Almost all of the grass on the grounds was brown. Second, I felt more like I was staying in an apartment complex rather than a resort. The Dolce Suite is spacious and gave us a nice living area. The patio is less than private, but we were able to sit outside in the morning in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The hotel room furniture is outdated and the bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in - very little support and squeeky springs. Ours needed to be replaced a long time ago. (Isn’t the main reason you are staying at a hotel for a good night’s sleep??) Also, I now wish that we had requested the 2nd Floor as stomping footsteps woke us up very early. The main pool area is relatively small and very crowded. Our room was next to the smaller pool in back, which had some very loud guests partying late into the night. On a positive note, I do compliment the staff for trying to doing the best they can with what they have to work with. We were greeted with a smile and "Hello" by everyone we passed by. This hotel just needs some work and investment.

Traveler's tip on dining

Try the Jackalope Ranch down Hwy 111 in Indio - Outstanding food and service! Be sure to make reservations and request outside seating as it is very limited on the weekends.

Going back in june

This is a great hotel especially for a handicapped person. Indian Wells is in the middle of the Valley and accessible to everything.

What a gem

This resort was a smaller scale than most I’ve stayed at. This was a good thing, as it made spa, restaurant and pool much more accessable. The spa was amazing, the food was good and the location was great--very near my conference. Also, the grounds were beautiful and there were a lot of birds (a big "plus" for me).

Traveler's tip on dining

There are a few good restaurants and fun shopping nearby in La Quinta’s Old Town (I think that’s what it’s called). Not hard to find, but also not a big tourist trap.

Underwhelmed

This is a beautiful hotel but while individual staff were pleasant there was no real focus on customer service or the level of attention I would expect in a resort/spa of this nature. The hotel was almost empty for the duration of our stay (2 days - Sunday Monday). They tried to assign us to a down-graded room. Then put us in a handicapped room as far away from everything as you can be. The spa was nice but there was no warmth or sense of caring. A disappointment.

Downgraded

Halfway through our stay, the hotel called to tell us late in the evening that we had to move to another room -- the heating had failed in our building (It was January and very cold). We were moved to a smaller, noisy room overlooking the parking lot. They offered a small credit when we were told to move, but we had to argue to have it applied when we checked out. Moving a guest to a worse room when the problem is your fault is not a good idea. I wouldn’t go back.

Very impressed

Our family was very impressed w/ Miramonte. It was very convenient since parking is outside our hotel and you can just go in and out of the hotel. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean. We love the patio(we got the swimming pool view)! I will come back definitely come back again.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Golf course is all over the place and across Miramonte is The Indian Wells Golf Course, unfortunately, it cost a lot. We ended up going to Desert Dunes in Desert Hot Springs which was a nice course and affordable. Plus, it’s not too far from Cabazon ( casino and outlet mall).

Great Staff!!

The staff at the Miramonte went above and beyond. They gave us very personal attention, greeting us not only with the valet service, but the concierge was at the door as well. The only criticism I can come up with is that the TV remote control was not in the room on our arrival, but as soon as we notified the desk, they sent someone over with a replacement.

True Palm Desert Atmosphere

I’ve passed this hotel frequently over the years and decided to try it. What a wonderful surprise! The grounds are spacious arrangments of citrus, olive and palm, with large grassy areas. There are many fountains, benches and a large firepit. There was a perfectly manicured herb garden in front of our patio. The room was one of the most spacious I have stayed in, was beautifully decorated and meticulously clean. The service at the front desk was outstanding. At least four people welcomed us. When the room we requested wasn’t ready, one of these people overheard and immediately got us into the type of room we wanted. The food in the restaurant is superb, albeit pricey. I highly recommend the Miremonte.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Opt for a lower level room which will have a beautiful paio.

Lukewarm

The hotel service was very good. I was not impressed with the layout of the room. Expected more from a 4 star hotel. Wish there was an ice machine in my building.

Amenities are pretty nice

The only thing about the hotel that I did not like was that their bathroom shower curtain smelled bad even from outside of the bathroom. I liked their gym ,pool, and a restaurant.

Traveler's tip on dining

Conseirge service is not recommendable for restaurants if you are thinking of authentic foods because we were directed to expensive and not really authentic restaurants. We were better off selecting our own restaurants and it was also better to look outside of Indian Wells area. Look in the older part of town.

Underwhelmed

I was excited to get away at the end of a business trip and was expecting a lovely retreat as I researched resorts in the area. However, my room was definitely not up to expectations. There was black mold blatantly evident all around the tub/shower; the door appeared to be warped, almost as if someone had broken into the room at some point; and the air filter in the bathroom was filthy and desperately needed to be changed; the bedspread was stained; and my room service tray was left by the staff outside my door for most of an extremely hot day. The staff was friendly but were not forwardly helpful or attentive. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this resort.
