Hyatt Place Mystic

Great place and location

The location is easy to find, freeway close and close to Mystic Seaport. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable. They also had computers for guests to use. Overall a very nice experience and we would go back again.

Amazingly comfortable!

Our room was beautiful and amazingly comfortable. The layout with the separate sitting area and large flat screen TV were as comfortable as being at home. Only two very small negatives, we requested 1 King and got 2 doubles, and the lobby/checkin area was a little confusing. Staff exremely friendly and helpful!

Spacious rooms, friendly staff, great family scene

The hotel is by I 95 and a few minutes drive from the Mystic Seaport and the village. Its also about 1/2 hour from Misquamicut beach in Rhode Island. Rooms are huge with two queen beds or one king bed, a pullout sofa and 42inch flat screen TV. Small heated outdoor pool, friendly staff, good place to stay with a family at Hyatt standards.

Not to be negative in the review but avoid Mystic Pizza (where the movie is based). Very disappointing (we ordered 4 large pies for a big group and most of us had tummy aches) and expensive. Mystic Seaport is nice and the village is quaint and fun to walk around.

Our room was nice and clean but breakfast was a logistical nightmare. The staff was friendly and tried to make it work but the set-up of the beakfast area is completely inefficient.

Great hotel for leisure and business

The hotel is very confortable and near to center of Mystic a nice and quietfully small town.

Nice choice for visiting Mystic, Ct.

When we first arrived in our room there was a connecting door to the next room. There was a couple talking and it sounded like they were talking to us! We complained to the desk and they immediately moved us to a perfectly quiet room. The rooms are really spacious - excellent value and location.

Mystic Seaport Museum is really nice on a beautiful day. The town of Mystic is very enjoyable, also.

Conveniently located and good service

When I reserved this hotel initially, I had this notion that it was close to the waterfront. Despite that not being the case, I was very satisfied with the convenience and pleasant attitude of the reception staff.

It is across the street from the Mystic Antique Market - which can be exciting for women, but dull for most men. Highly recommend driving around the Noank and Mystic waterfront regions and trying out the local seafood places. Stay away from the GO FISH chain restaurant - the food was not good and the sushi was pretty bad.

Mystic experience

Close to the Seaport for their events, easy on-off turnpike and access to quaint shoppingh area and Aquarium. Something for everyone.

Just what was required!!

This hotel fulfilled the requirement perfectly. Nothing fancy but ideal for family weekend away. The staff were friendly and flexible and provided everything that had been requested with our booking.

Good Value

Staff was extremely courteous. Just stayed overnight, but room was well kept. Good location for sightseeing. Reasonable price.

I was not happy with the mildew on the shower curtain since it was alot and the cleaning people kept knocking at my door starting at 8am to see if they could clean the room ... hello, I am still in it and getting ready to leave ... I would think they would see that I was checking out and wait until I did check out.

Great family place!

All was really good with the hotel. I don’t mean for this to sound like a negative review as the staff was very very pleasant and I did give it high ratings. However, it’s a low grade hotel. There’s a word for it that doesn’t come to mind right now, but it’s self park, carry in your own luggage type of place. More along the the line of a "motel" style. It was close (walking distance) to the quaint shops and aquariam and just a very short drive to the seaport. But it was to be a romantic anniversary celebration and it just wasn’t what I had at all hoped for it to be atmosphere wise. It would be great for a family. The couch pulls out in the room and there’s a seperator between the "living area" and the bedroom. There is a fridge and bar sink. I didn’t like the bathroom sink being in the bedroom and the bathroom was fit for 1.........barely! The closet was very small and there was no dresser, only the drawers attached to the bathroom sink. Poor planning for a family that will bring, I’m sure, a lot of clothes. Hope this helps others in deciding. Turns out the Hyatt has several levels of their hotels. Hyatt Place, Hyatt Regency, etc. This one is on the lowest tier.

We went to S & P Oyster Restaurant right on the water. Make reservations for this one at the hotel. They will do it for you. It was crowded ad loud. Not a family restaurant. But the food was outrageous. GO EARLY! We went at 7 and that’s the worst time.

Room was big, quiet and clean. Staff was extremaly helpful. Getting checked in and out was just a matter of 1 minute. Perfect location to attractions, restaurants, shopping and highway.

Comfortable and classy, almost forgot I was staying in a hotel, great bed and large tv. staff was attentive, continental breakfast was free but over at 9:30. location was good, only drawback, no restaurant or lounge on site, There was limited food you could order from a set menu, hotel was more geared toward business travelers and adults

not impressed

The staff of the hotel were lovely. The room was dirty. The breakfast was unimpressive and the lobby was filthy. It was obvious that the staff was overwhelmed with the morning crush of families and guests. There is also no safe way to get to the hotel except by crossing a double line. Again, I have to emphasize the staff tried very hard to be helpful and accommodating.

stay away from room 124, it’s across the hall from kitchen entrance. Staff report at 6am.

Excellent Experience!!

Could not believe the size of our room. The room was wonderful. The front desk staff was helpful. All and all, we enjoyed our stay and would choose this hotel to return to Mystic.

Not to hyatt standards

This hotel was definately not to Hyatt standards. It was dirty, understaffed and not comfortable. We had to switch rooms because the first room wasn’t cleaned and then the second room had dirty stained sheets. I would not go back.

The best! Rooms are wonderful and staff better than most!

I travel a lot and found this hotel an E-Hyatt the best. It was so great I brought back 15 people that were meeting in Mystic to review the hotel for a future model that we would like to build!!! Staff was 100% on for a weekend in CT. at fall colors change. I would go back here all of the time.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Great wireless throughout the hotel. Great lobby with TV’s to die for! You can sit on couch in room with 42 inch plasma with high-definition or lay in bed and have great TV while you work. It also had a good working desk with chair and wet bar area. Beds were very comfortable and that is a nice change for the business traveler.

Very Impressed

Only complaint was the shower drain was very slow and needed to be fixed. Rooms were very comfortable with the couch and King size bed. Of course the 42" plasma was great for relaxing at night. Breakfast was also a good surprise.

If you are staying in Mystic and want a great hotel room at decent prices, check out the Hyatt. Would definately stay there again.

There is a great shopping village within walking distance. Abbotts restaurant for lobster was great.
