Better than expected
I had not been to Galveston in about 10-12 years and didn’t know what to expect, especially after Ike last year. My sister and I looked and looked on the internet and had a hard time deciding because of some of the reviews. The Holiday Inn on the Beach had good reviews and we went with them. The hotel desk clerks were very nice and professional. Received a welcome voicemail later the first day. Very convenient to all we wanted to see. Restaurant was very good. We will stay there again and have recommended to some friends.

a welcomed stay
the hotel was clean and friendly, the pool was a perfect size and clean with lots of towels available. drinks from the indoor bar were allow around the pool area - awesome! - the hotel is across the street from public gulf beach and lots of restaurants in walking distance - hope to return some time again.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
if u have never been to Galveston - take one of the guided tours offered at the beginning of stay - we did the Duck tour and our guide George was very informative on history, sites and current going on’s that weekend. It helped us decide what we must do this time and what could wait for another visit

Love to go back but......
the location of the hotel was great and so was the cleanliness. There were problems with getting the doors to lock and when asked to fix it the put a chain latch for it. Felt a little uneasy sleeping there for security reasons
