Great downtown hotel
The Marriott City Center hotel is a great hotel if you are staying downtown. Its right on the skywalk, has a great fitness center that overlooks the city, and is close by to nightlife, restaurants, the Target Center, and shopping. In fact, from the Skywalk, there is a Macys literally next door. The only negative to the entire hotel is the size of the bathrooms. We upgraded our room to a corner executive king room, but the bathroom was so small only one person at a time could be in it. Otherwise, beds were very comfy, was able to regulate the room temperature properly so that we didnt feel the cold, and the front desk service was adequate. Our room was very large with amazing views from two walls of windows, and had a nice living area as well. Worth the extra money.
If you are staying downtown and arriving at the Minneapolis airport, dont rent a car. Their light rail system is great, and very user friendly. You can get to the Mall of America, the airport, and spots towards downtown on the light rail. The walk from the Nicollet Mall stop to our hotel was just under 2 blocks.

Great MSP hotel!
Great location, excellent service, friendly and helpful hotel personnel. Would stay here again anytime!
Before you rent a car, check out the citys massive skywalk capabilities and public transportation--I dont think we really needed a car on this trip!

Excelent Hotel and Great Location
Great location, there is a mall in the same block where you can have breakfast or lunch.Across the street there is another one bigger with many more options. You can ride the light rail train form the airport to the Hotel (Nicolet Mall Station)is fast, clean and safe ($1,75 fare) Very friendly staff they allow us to check in at noon waiving the 3 pm time rule. Nice touch: they had a wonderful warm apple cider at the from desk enjoy it!!
Traveler's tip on dining
Terrific dining at Palominos Restaurant 3 blocks from the hotel. If you like Paella give it a try here.
