Dont Believe The Internet Presentation
we had to ask where to find the reception desk. The reception clerks were quite cordial, and provided a single sheet of instructions/listing of hotel services, meal times, etc. Our room was dreadful, tiny, one double? bed, and no view. We requested a different room, and were shown a larger room with only high, basement style windows, and a third bed, obviously for a larger family, not cleaned yet. Finally we accepted a room with two beds, normal windows, and a small ground floor balcony - large enough for one patio chair, if we had one. Food was strictly Buffet style, redundant in 3 days, and usually cool. They provided access to one Mexican and one Thai restaurant, but only 2 nights a week each. Thrick was, you had to sign in between 9 AM and 1 PM, and usually maxed out immediately. Never made the list. Cleanileness - not bad, but we spilled a drink by the night stand the first night and it was still there when we left. The entertainment was lively, but? For example, the best eveniong we participated they had BINGO. To be fair, it rained most days and we did not spend time at the beach. Both pools were very nice. The Good - Each meal had a "frypan chef" cook individual items - omlets in the AM, pasta and sauce at lunch or in the PM, and ribs one PM. All were very good. Only beer was Presidenti on tap - not very cold, and lacked any "life." All in all, about equivalent is all ways to a roadside Motel in hte $25 to $45 in he US.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Believe the price - could not provide what was implied on the internet for the prices charged. I no longer put any stock in the "star" rating of properties.

Not Satisfied
The pictures online were a bit deceiving. I dont like being negative, but I really dont have anything positive to say about this place. The food was not good, the beach was dirty, and the rooms were far from well kept. I guess on the good side, one waiter was really nice, the entertainers were very energetic, and the entrance to the hotel had a unique old-fashioned look.

Wonderful getaway....
My husband and I (40 something) just returned from a 4 night stay at Celuisma Paraiso Tropical. The property is all inclusive but is somewhat smaller and more intimate that other all inclusives I have been to before both in Mexico and DR. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept. The room was simple yet comfortable. The ladies who cleaned it everyday were super sweet and hard working. The pool areas were inviting. Beach is gorgeous but a little too windy for my liking...we are more pool people anyway and we had a nice view of it from the pool. We have been to Punta Cana before and that water was still and that Caribbean turquoise blue...Cabarete is ocean...wind and waves, but gorgeous. The activity staff was awesome...the best Ive ever experienced...very professional AND entertaining. Plenty of food to meet our taste. Ice cold Presidente always on hand. Bring your own container for the beer and water because it is served in tiny "Dixie-size" cups. That would be my only "complaint". Outstanding value for the money. One more tip-bring your own shampoo.
