Kings Inn Hotel - Seaworld/Zoo

Okay for a quick stay.

Hotel was okay. If I needed a quick place to stay. I would return. Mattress was a bit worn and uncomfortable. As specified by others furnishing is very old. Bathroom was very small in that I had to step in away from door to close as there was not enough room. Ceiling had a leak from above that thankfully landed in the wash basin area preventing a wet carpet. I reported this. On the other side, very quiet place, nice area, conveniently close to old town and sea world. Employees very nice and helpful. Breakfast in their restaurant was fabulous. They make the greatest waffles and are know for this. Like I said nice place for a quick stay. Will return to their restaurant.

Would stay again!

This hotel was very close to the San Diego Zoo. We flew in late at night and just needed a place to stay the night. Clean rooms. We were too late to swim but the pool area looked really nice. I would stay here again.

Birthday Upset

The hotel was ok the people were friendly and the coffee shop was good but the rooms were terrible. The mattress on the bed was BAD! I felt like I was sleeping on a piece of board or better yet the floor. I complained and they were more than willing to move me to another room but told me the chances of getting the same mattress was likely. Forget it then, why move. They did give me extra pillows and blankets to soften up the mattress but that could only do so much. I was also not impressed with the bathroom. The space was so tight that it was very uncomfortable. I will not be staying here again.

Very nice for a family stay

We wanted to spend our 24th Anniversary weekend in San Diego with all our kids, and this hotel has been our choice for many years. The front desk were nice, the rooms were clean and ready and the Coffee Shop has some very good breakfast menu. The location is on the center of Hotel Circle, so you are minutes from SeaWorld, Balboa Park, Downtown/Gaslamp, Old Town, Little Italy, etc. This is a a very good choice for a family stay. The staff is very friendly with kids and the overall installations, although old, are well maintained.

I will definitely stay there again.

The staff was very friendly, the room was very nice and clean...smelled a littly muggy, but after we turned on the air conditioner, it was fine. And the waffle spot was great...a little pricey and the service was a little slow, but overall, a great place to eat without driving!

Great location

We enjoyed our stay. Nice cafe for breakfast. Nice bar and dining area for after hours to relax. It is an 8 minute drive from sea world to the motel. Room was clean. Just worked out great for our vacation in the area. We took in all the bay area sights and the motel location worked out well.

Take the 59 mile driving tour of the bay area. It is a great way to see the area and you dont want to miss some of the attractions on the way.

Reasonable Hotel

I have stayed here 3 or 4 times and have always been satisfied. The staff has always been nice and helpful if I had a question. The location for me is a big plus. The room was clean and comfortable. It just a nice place to stay for a long weekend which I generally do. I’d recommend it.

There is a wide range of resturauants at the top of Hotel Circle area in the Hillcrest area. Just about any ethnic food is represented.

Worth the price.

It was slightly disappointing when we reserved our room 2 months in advance and were not given the room we requested. However, we were very happy with the room and the great location of the hotel.

This is a very functional hotel that is centrally located. Everyone is very pleasant with good service.

The restaurant on the premises is very conveniently located and gives good value. On Friday nights the nightclub on the premises has mariachi music is very entertaining and you are able to enjoy your drinks without having to drive.

A value for the price

Staff was friendly and both eating establishments were great. Pool and hot tub area was clean and well maintained. Plumbing in room needed attention and that is something that they did not correct to my satisfaction. Price of rooms compared to stay would rate this stay as being more than a good deal.

The Waffle house gives good portions for the price and the food is above average. The Amiego offers excellent food, an outstanding "Happy Hour" and staff and patrons are friendly.

last stay at Kings

this was our 2nd stay at Kings and will be our last. It was noisy, sink backed up and was gross.

Very disappointed

I booked this hotel because of the great reviews that I’ve read about it. I found it lacking. 1. The hotel has a moldy smell to it, even in the upgraded lobby. 2. The room assigned to us wasn’t cleaned very well...dusty. 3. The only roll of toilet paper there was already half-used by previous customers...so by the next day, we were out. We had to wait 15 minutes to get another roll. 4. The drain in the bathtub is horrible! It doesn’t drain fast enough, and leaves soap suds after the water’s all gone, making the bathtub looks unclean and slipper for the next person. 5. Toilet needs to be flushed, and held down until everything is gone, or else they will resurface. 6. The hotel was planning to trim its trees on Monday. Unknown to us customers, they rounded off the whole areas where we were staying, efficiently yellow taped us in. We had an appointment that night, and can’t drive out of the area. We called the front desk, who assured us that someone is on his way to take down the yellow tape for us. We waited for nearly 10 minutes, and ended up taking down the yellow tapes ourselves so that we can drive out. The only thing I like about this hotel is that it is very close to all the places that we want to visit...but then, there are other hotels on Hotel Circle. We won’t be back.

Would stay there again

Hotel was old and kinda out of date. However the staff was very nice, the room was very clean and comfortable. We requested an iron and board and they were delivered to the room in less than 10 min.Thee star hotel with five star staff!!

Great Service

This older facility is well maintained. I must compliment the front desk staff. They were not only helpful, but genuinely friendly as well. The trolley stops right out front. The price was right (for three rooms for family to attend a funeral service). The coffee shop has killer waffles.

This hotel was convienently close to San Diego’s Sea World and other areas of interest. Good for the price. Quiet and nice people staying in hotel. A comfortable place to sleep and get recharged for the next day of fun!

the people who work the front desk are so friendly and accomidating ive never had a bad experience staying there and have stayed many times,the location is perfect to,its minutes from all the beaches and about 10min from downtown....and the resturants located in the hotel are awsome

Kings Inn Oh Ya!

Refrigerators should and need to be standard for guests in the rooms. Also more electrical outlets for computer plug in or other electrical plug ins. I will say my overall stay was excellent. Thank you Kings Inn for all your hospitality!

Good for the price

Not a luxury hotel, but for the price it was great. Good location, lots of parking.
