Great Location its definetely worth it!

The hotel is beautiful and the room is a decent size for what I had expected with the whole we don’t offer big beds thing. Me and my husband stayed on a full bed and it worked out fine for the money you can’t really argue with the size. It’s duable really you shouldn’t pay extra to change beds. The hotels location is awesome you can’t ask for anything more. The station is a few steps away and believe me after all the walking you will have to do when visiting temples etc you will appreciate the time you save having the station so close. There is an am/pm right across the street great for snacks and even a full meal this is specially great for people that aren’t to keen on dinning in restaurants where they don’t know what to order or how to order it (no menus in english). There are about 4 malls walking distance that offer even more dinning and of course more shopping.

Great hotel in excellent location

Friendly staff, delicious restaurant. Very simple small rooms but functional and clean. Great location a block from Shinjuku station and 20 feet from a the Shinjuku stop on the very useful Oedo subway line.

Great Location, Itty Bitty Living Space

Great location for the price but the room was EXTRAORDINARILY SMALL. If you don’t play on spending much time and the hotel, then this is okay but otherwise, I would say avoid. I’ve traveled in other parts of Asia (Hong Kong, China) but never experienced this level of cramped space. Anyways, if that’s not important to you, then this hotel is perfect (very close to Shinjuku Station which was awesome!).

Excellent location.

The Sunroute-Shinjuku hotel is located in a very convenient location -- walking distance to shopping, Time Square, Shinjuku train station, Airport Bus Limousine, evening activities and restaurants. For airport transfer, I highly recommend taking the Airport Bus Limousine. Door to door service - except when you have to leave for the airport before 7 am, you will have to walk couple of blocks to the Airport Bus Limousine station. The hotel is very comfortable. It is small for a double bedroom, but my kids have two single beds and their room is a lot larger.

Convenient, efficient, basic rooms and service, but very good value and very satisfying considering its location (super -- only 5 min pleasant walk to Shinjuku South Entrance) and price (very moderate).

Sunroute is in a great area of Tokyo and very very convenient to Shinjuku station. We took the Narita Express to Shinjuku station and walked straight to Sunroute. Check in was a breeze and communicating with the staff was not a problem. Our room was clean and efficient. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

The Hotel Sunroute is so conveniently located near the Shinjuku Station; the rooms are bigger than expected; the restaurant in the Hotel offers good food and very reasonble, around $15.00 for breakfast or lunch buffet. The fruits and vegetables are so fresh. It’s so near the shopping centers and easy to go around the city. I will definitely recommend this hotel and will stay in it again.

I stayed here twice. This is a clean hotel that gives you what you need, located very close to a major train station.

A Great Find!

I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future, and would recommend it to my friends! The lobby is quite grand, and I had high hopes of my room. The room itself did not live up to the grandeur of the lobby, but was more than acceptable for me. Since I stand over 6 feet tall I asked for a double bed, which was a great choice. The room itself was small, and the fact that there were no drawers to put clothes meant that I needed to keep clothes in my luggage, which sat in the corner of the room. That made the room even smaller, but since I was a solo traveler it was no problem. The buffet breakfast was GREAT, although my reservation did not include breakfast, but I ate there on my last day. You get a very wide variety of food to eat. Also, the hotel location was fantastic. Being right at a major subway and JR stop made getting around quite easy. All in all, it was a great stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

December 2009 - Shinjuku

Many hotels in Tokyo upgrade guests spending a week or more at their property, but this hotel did not. Room was clean, and very small. As is usual in Tokyo, a very expensive restaurant. No gift shop. Excellent location, near a mall and Shinjuku Station. In room refridgerator and teapot very handy.

Great Deal

Booked this hotel after reading reviews on Expedia. Very satisfied. Hotel room was on the small side, but hey this is Tokyo. Room and hotel facilities were clean, staff friendly and the location of this hotel is just excellent. Would definitely come back.

Great Hotel in a Great Location

As the review names states, this is a great hotel located next to the biggest station in Tokyo. Very convenient to get to anywhere. Plus there’s a plethera of food and shopping options a short walk away.

Clean & Convenient

My 5 night stay at this hotel was easy & convenient. The location is about a block away from the Shinjuku Station (South Exit), and there’s a McDonald’s a few stores down and an AMPM convenient store for quick meals. The front desk folks speak English, and they were informative about transportation to and from the airport and various attractions/cities. As them for directions of the main attractions, and they’ll provide you with a paper with which station to hop on/off or estimated taxi fare. Love how clean the room is, with all the amenities you can think of- toothbrush/toothpaste, shower puff, cotton tip... etc. The room was comfortable, there’s not much room for lounging around unless on the bed. See the virtual room tour, it looks exactly like the room I stayed. (standard queen) I’d stay there again. But if you want something traditional, then stay at a ryokan.

Bring your own computer if you don’t want to wait 20 minutes to use the public computers (they only have 2 available). Remember to exit the South exit from the Shinjuku station- that’ll put you closest to the hotel. If you’re planning to stay out late, check when the last train ends. And mind you, that train may be packed! Avoid rush hour if you don’t want to be jammed. Get a Suica card for the metro/subway system. It’s a rechargeable fare card. Comfortable walking shoes-- I cannot stress enough!

Would chose to stay there again!

The access to the Limo bus drop off location was a short 3-5 minute walk to the hotel. The hotel was clean and well maintained. It met the rating and what I was expecting for a Hotel in downtown Tokyo office/shopping area. Plenty of restaurants in the area for different types of food. Internet access was easy and convienient. I would stay there again.

Small rooms, but oh-so-nice service, cleanliness

Me and a friend stayed here for 2 weeks in the smaller room. I can tell you that the lobby is very modern, and the place is absurdly clean. Rooms were cramped, but that is what’s expected from any hotel room in Japan. Rooms have stupid fast internet, flat panel TV, small fridge, and even all the toiletries that you will need. I will say, if you have a chance, try out the toilets in the main lobby. Heated seats! We will definitely be back next year.

The Sunroute Plaza was convenient to Shinjuku station and other places of interest. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was congeniel and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very nice. I would stay here again without any hesitation.

The location was excellent - close to train and subway stations, a large number restaurants and shopping malls. The room was very clean and service was great. The only down side was the small size of the room. But for the rate I paid, it was a good deal.

Convenient location

Very cl\ose to subway and shopping area. Very clean and very good service. Room is quite small but well design. No connecting room so not convenient for family of 4 (2 small kids).

Worked for the occasion.

The hotel was clean, the service good, and the restaurant convenient. The size of my room was small. There were no drawers for clothes, so I basically lived out of my suitcase. The closet space was narrow with few hangers. The bathroom counter space was limited. The bed was rather hard, and I didn’t sleep well. However, the price was right, the location convenient, and it was clean (except for the carpet, which I found to be a little soiled). There were only 2 Internet PC’s very close together in the lounge, and I usually had to wait regardless of the time of day. The Japanese keyboard slowed me down some. It was nice to have the PCs there, though. I appreciated the package deal with air fare, so I was tolerant of the small space for the duration of the trip. If a clean place to sleep is all you need, then this Hotel fits the bill.

There is a Cambodian restaurant within walking distance of the hotel that is very good.

Rooms are as small as possible, which is understandable in Tokyo, other than it is a very nice hotel.
