Disappointing
The construction on Harbour Street was not the hotel’s fault, but having heavy machinery start up right outside our window promptly at 7 am every morning (including weekends) wasn’t quite what we expected. The hotel could have done a lot more to help us with driving directions (to warn us and to get around the construction), and to maybe move us to the other side of the building once we were there. The parking lot was full when we arrived, and they were at a loss as to where we should park. Right off the bat we could see a lack of professionalism. We also found them surprisingly incompetent regarding towels and the coffee machine (which never worked right) plus coffee supplies (which they seemed to have difficulty providing). The desk staff seemed more like kids on a summer job rather than trained service personnel. Friendly, but disappointingly aloof and passive. Maybe they were more concerned about a wedding party they were hosting that weekend. Well, we were paying too. Location is excellent (except for the construction. Breakfast was very good. Maybe we caught them at a bad time, but while not really bad, it was not worth the extra $$ we payed for what should have been a really nice place with great service. So unfortunately, I have to give them a thumbs down.
