Comfortable and Convenient
Quaint and well-maintained property, if you expect the Ritz this is not for you (but then you should expect to pay Ritz rates), no false advertising here: the Guest House is what it says it is. Rooms and bathroom were larger than I expected considering the age of the property, and I was satisfied with the cleanliness. Location is actually quite good -- convenient to the French Market and actually not a bad walk up Bourbon Street. We were told the owners have a wine and cheese hour every day around 6 pm but cant comment as we were out enjoying the Quarter at that time! The staff we did meet was very friendly however. I would recommed the Guest House as a base from which to explore the French Quarter; next time we visit New Orleans we will stay there again.
If you like old style New Orleans Dixieland jazz, you cant miss a live set at Fritzels on Bourbon Street. For fancy dining, Arnauds or Antoines; for laid back dining, Acme Oyster House and Napoleon House. For coffee and beignets, Cafe du Monde of course (very busy during the day, less of a crowd at night - open 24 hrs a day). Croissant dOr patisserie down the street on Ursulines Street -- great coffee and best croissants this side of Paris.

New Owners Working on Upkeep
New owners who need to invest in new linens, beds and general upkeep. Over time this is a great hideaway which is close enough to the French Quarter to be away from all of the noise.
