Great spot, needs updating.
My sister and I spent two nights on the marsh side of the hotel. It was wonderful, waking up to the wildlife and sounds- the smell of the ocean. Staff was friendly and conscientious. The carpeting in the lobby and halls, is old and dirty. There needs to be a computer for guest’s use, in the lobby. But otherwise, it was a great stay and I would do it again.

Good Location
Our room was fine for a two night stay. The front desk clerk was not very heplful when we arrived, we had a few towels in the room that were not clean and the air conditioner was so loud that it literally woke you from a sound sleep evey time it came on. The location was perfect, the room and beds fine.

Fun family hotel
We had stayed for a few days at one of the ritzy hotels downtown Charleston before we headed to Shem Creek. We wanted to mix it up a bit. This place looked to be family friendly, and we read the reviews that said there were restaurants within walking distance. At first I was disappointed to have left our 4-star hotel for this one, but soon after saw the family of dolphins just in front of the hotel. The scenery was wonderful. The hotel had a laid-back feeling. The staff was nice.
