Absolute DUMP...stay away
Paint peeling from the wall of the bed room, dead insect in the bed curtain. An old tired looking villa in need of renovation and in a remote location. The staff walked into the villa in the morning and left the front door open following delivery of breakfast. Oh yes, they also came with breakfast two hours ahead of the agreed time. What a disappointment. We will not be going back.....

A Wonderful Hideaway
An absolutely beautiful place to stay, I would recommend this for those that are looking for a quiet place to do your own thing. With a private pool and shower outside within your own gated fortress allows for the imagination to take course. The location is out in the boonies, but a $6 to $8US cab will get you to Kuta. And it was nice to be able to stroll around a quiet area surrounded by rice fields, locals, street dogs, roosters and even some cows. But, if you want to be on the shore, this is not the place for you to be. Overall, the staff is very welcoming and friendly. However, on our first day there when we sat down to eat at the restaurant it was closed (Sunday). Yet, you can order out and it will be delivered to your table poolside. The staff could not help us find lodging in Ubud, but they did allow us to use there office computer where we booked the rest of our trip through Expedia. But, these are just little things they are wonderful people there. This is a very romantic villa, my girlfriend and I found a little sanctuary there. We stayed for 2 nights and would have liked to have stayed longer. If this place was on beachfront property it would be immaculate; however, I think its current location is also a bit of its appeal. I actually proposed to my girlfriend on our second night beside the private pool, so the Bali Nyuh Gading Villa is a special place for us that we will hopefully visit once again.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Make sure you grab a business card from the front desk before venturing out - we had two cab drivers get lost (or play dumb) and at that time I even had a map of the hotels location. Or, better yet get to know your surroundings immediately so you can direct cab drivers.

A Quiet Getaway
Newly refurbished boutique villas set amongst the paddy fields in Umalas slightly away from the main Legian / Seminyak area. Lovely setting if you want to get some quiet time with your partner - can’t fault it. Need to have transport arranged if you want to go to the busier areas and beaches but that is not hard to do. Loved it - a perfect honeymoon.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Plan your itenerary of what you want to do and arrange transport before hand and you will have a lovely time. The villas are great value but slightly out of the way walking wise but quite close to everything if you have transport.
