Too far from Kinsale
Even tho their website and the information sheet in the room refer to their shuttle service which leads you to believe getting to and from Kinsale is provided, the shuttle only begins at 6PM. I like full disclosure from a hotel and this was not. Would not stay there again. Too far to walk and meant a $15 cab ride each way.

What a location!
Beautiful, well-maintained hotel...but necessary to drive along a very narrow, winding road to get there. The hotel has a shuttle service into and from Kinsale which greatly relieved my anxieties about finding our way back to the hotel at night. We were not told about the shuttle at check-in. Luckily we inquired about directions before setting out for town and were informed about the shuttle service then. Great breakfast included. Enjoyed Kinsale and its music a lot!

Review of Carlton Hotel & Spa in Kinsale Ireland
Upon arrival the front desk team was polite, organize, ready to provide the excelent service as expected. They saw many bags we carried and had offered to take them up to the room, but we managed. The location is superb and the view from the hotel overlooking the bay was wonderful. There were many trails to walk the grounds and the ouside like the inside was kept up very well. On a scale of 1-10 for this hotel I would rete a good 9. Have not seen a perfect 10 yet :). Enjoy your time in Ireland, I have and will again another day.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Fort Kinsale located about 10 minutes from the hotel was awesome to view and walk around. Then from there head to the Harbor of Kinsale around another 10 minutes and enjoy the many shopping attractions and pubs.
