Best to Ignore This Lodging Option

While visiting family for six days we only needed "pit stop accommodations". The operative word turns out to be "pit". We moved to another room the first day because of hair in the shower - not ours. The next room wasn’t much better, but we figured we could handle it. I just told my wife to keep her eyes on the TV and don’t look around. The motel was supposedly just remodeled - I calculated that it was new paint, new faucet, new lock, and new bedspread. It needed a new cleaning crew. In the six days we were there it got cleaned twice. One occasion, when it was supposed to be cleaned, one person called in sick, and the other didn’t have a license, so nothing was done. I had to go down and get new towels myself each day. Rediculous. On top of that, this shower was never adequately cleaned, either. Red shampoo drops remained on the sidewall the entire time. As a precaution, we packed our bags each day and loaded them back into the car, just to be safe. This may be ranked as an economy motel, but I think even economy motels should be held to a basic standard of service. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this motel.
