Paper thin walls
The hotel itself is reasonable - but the walls were so thin that we heard everything from people walking down the corridor to the tv in the next room.

Just getting up to speed
The water feature was empty, the garden unkempt, the Starbucks was only open in the morning - but the diner was fine, the little patio divine, and the room was comfortable and spacious. A good deal. The remodeling will pay big time off if they can pull all the details together.
