excellent choice for the price
bus service from hotel to downtown edinburgh was clean, efficient and frequent. to and from airport was simple and convenient and displayed the excellent public transportation service we need in other parts of the world. grounds were clean and well suited for jogging. very competitive pricing and surprising to those unfamiliar with choices outside downtown.if on a budget, probably cant do better for a basic room. tv worked well. shower clean. for college dorm it was reasonably quiet.

Not Bad for a University Stay
The Heriot-Watt was not bad for a short stay. The reception people were very good. But the place lacked TV room or a change to use the computer for Internet access. Breakfast was good. Bus to Endinburgh was good.

A Great Place for Young Adults
I graduated college about 2 years ago, and this remined me of my first year staying in the dorms, except with maid service. It is a dorm! I felt very safe being there and I was a girl traveling on my own. The only complaint I have is that the bed was super hard, but again it is a dorm room bed. Transportation to the city centre was extremely easy just get on the #25 bus! :)
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
At the bistro they have this cheddar cheese and tomato sandwich that for some reason is not advertised! I think it is a great value! I ate almost everyday since I was weary of trying the local cuisine (I have a sensitive stomach)
