Good service, good value
Buffet breakfast was very good and moderately priced.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The Art Museum, just acress the street, was the first US site for a major exhibit at the time. Well worth checking.

Great Hotel to stay but keep the staff on their toes
As I frequently stay at this particular Marriott during my visits to Columbia, SC (our head quarters are located in downtown, Columbia, SC). Upon arrival at the airport I called the hotel for their complimentary shuttle service and while it did not work out for me to get a pick up, they did pay for a taxi to bring me to hotel. Check in - The check in was friendly and fast but they put me in a room that was very small. To all travelers avoid any room in the Columbia Marriott that is an even thousand number on any floor as the rooms are very small. Food and Service - Service was very good but the food order was incorrect on two occasions (vegetables missing off one meal and hamburger prepared rare vs. the requested medium). Gym - Great facility, clean and maintained well.
