Carambola - October 2009
The location of the resort is very secluded, just what we were looking for. The beach is great. The rooms were good, but could have been cleaned better. The first three days, we had no hot water. Finally, with our persistant nagging, it was repaired. There was a problem with the electricity. It routinely went off. The resort ran on back-up generator power the entire 10 days we were there. The last night of our trip, our room was infested with a swarm of bees; so we had to pack and move to another room. The resort did agree to comp some meals and drinks, which was appreciated. There were several nagging incidients, but I would definitely go back. It is a beautiful island. We visited several other resorts and Carambola is definitely one of the nicer places.

Can’t wait to return to paradise!
After touring nearly the entire island, I wound only return if I was staying at Carambola and I can’t wait to return! The resort is very nice and private as well. Very nice people with very good food. It has a small, nice, quiet beach great for swimming, snorkeling, or just simply relaxing! I would reccomend this resort to anyone who is looking for a relaxing beach getaway! Just make sure you rent a car to explore the beautiful,quiet,relaxed island! Kids will love to explore all the resort has to offer including snorkeling, scuba diving, a pool, and a hiking trail to the Tidal Pools!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Attend the Pirate’s Buffet on Friday night. The food and show is excellent!It’s the best buffet i’ve ever been to! Try an island drink while you’re around the bar since the cruzan rum is wonderful! If you like to snorkel.... Buck Island is a MUST! Saw a few sharks while i was there!
