I’ll go back just for the price.

Went in August so I guess that is off season and the hotel was rather empty, which I didn’t mind. My wife and I had the pool to ourselves most of the time. The pool bar was closed. There was little if any communication between the hotel management and myself, we checked in and we checked out, they gave no information on guest privileges,ie. towels, beach chairs, breakfast, room service. I will use this hotel again just for the price but if you want luxury you will not find it here.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Maegens Bay is a short 10 minute drive from the hotel and ther is no admission charge before 8 am. It is a beautiful place to go for a morning walk and cool off with a dip in the water. Also, if you wish to visit the British Virgin Islands there are plenty of day trips leaving from Saphire marina each day, but, price wise you can do much better taking the water taxi from Red Hook.

nice beach hotel not so much

hotel needs lots of work. on the first day we arrived we complained about out decks sliding door, two days later a maintenance man arrived to look at it, then went to lunch and never came back. we also had no phone service in our room for the four days we were there. the rooms are cleaned every other day, it took three hours to get fresh towels. hotel has no where to eat. there is no pool side bar, furniture is old and beat up. the beach there is very beatuiful to bad the hotel is such in bad shape.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

best place to get food and drinks is at Duffy’s Love Shack in Red Hook great people there.

This is not a hotel

While Sapphire is listed among other reputable hotels, it is not a proper hotel. It seems the majority of rooms are timeshare-owned, and I spent a while at the front desk explaining that I was "checking in" and not a resident of the property. The front desk service was almost non-existent, maid service came approximately every other day, and the electricity went out during our stay; the front desk didn’t seem too concerned about the lack of electricity. The rooms were old and one of our TV’s was broken. The beach was quite nice, though.

Traveler's tip

If I haven’t convinced you not to stay here, I suppose you might request a room on the beach on the first floor. It has access directly to the beach from the balcony
