Can’t wait to go back
Loved the hotel and all of its facilities. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Makes for an amazing little getaway from more crowded cities.

good service, helpful staff
Beautiful grounds, clean, staff always willing to help. Annoyed at having to pay $5 for ice in room, everything shuts down early in evening and need car or cab to get anywhere at night other than restaurant. Generally enjoyed our stay there and considered staying an extra night, but wanted to move on to another part of the country.

beautiful quiet restful off the beaten track hotel
Hotel has a marvelous location on the front of the lake and as a guest the gratis use of the gender divided onsen (with a view of the lake). The hotel is dated but wonderfully maintained. One night was in early June and we utilized the hotel’s excellent bus service to and fro the train station - should email hotel as to your expected arrival
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Onsen was a plus for us-two of us. The small shopping complex adjacent to the hotel was convenient and extremely reasonable. We are not gourmet eaters. We did not have time to check out nearby onsens, nor ride the pirate ship on the lake nor ride the tram to the top of the mountain. This stay was a nice opposite of the hustle and bustle of Tokyo/Kyoto. We purchased a first class 7 day rail pass-excellent for traveling to multiple cities.
