No downsides at this range
Splendid breakfast, innovative rooms, friendly staff, a lot of attention-to-detail in design and great change of style after all the history in Toscana. Great for the travellers arriving by cars, as free parking is available. Drive closer to the city center and park on the street, or get a 6-8 hrs parking for EUR 8-12 right in the center. Great value for money.
Traveler's tip on dining
Osteria I Miei Sapori, on via Faggiola (near the corner with via Leopardi). Very much tucked away from the touristic traffic routes. Found it completely by chance. This tiny restaurant with 1 chef and 1 waiter beats many in providing culinary art at pizza-joint prices. Sombrero raviolis with ricota were covered in rich sauce full of black truffle... for EUR 8.50...

Hyper-Modern Living
Aside from cement floors in the rooms and some non-obvious high-tech features (waving the card key at the door entry panel rather than inserting it, inserting it in the slot inside the door to enable the lights, the hidden TV location in the mirror, hidden electrical outlets in the liftable desk cover, openable night stands) the hotel was good value. It is a bit remote (not walking distance) from the convention center and tourist attractions, but the staff was very helpful, the included breakfast buffet bountiful, and the free hors dhouvres served in the evening quite attractive and tasty. The Bus stop is nearby for travel to the city core and so is a good restaurant if you tire of the ultra-modern decor (or food) in the hotel. Wifi was not free, though you have access to a computer in the lobby to check e-mail or browse the web.

If you like nuveaux, this is the place.
It was new and very "modern" with all metal furnishings so it was not a "cozy" stay. It was not to our liking for that reason. It was close to the airport but not close to the main sites in town so it made getting to the Leaning Tower more difficult.
