La Concha was a shell of a good time.
The hotel itself was gorgeous, and very trendy. The lobby itself was beautiful, all redone with beautiful marble. The staff on the other hand was bizarre. The pool side service and food service staff were very professional, but when checking in and checking out, its like we were stared at for being from a different country. then finally i spoke up and said we were not being helped, so someone helped us. we had one incident with a teenager at the beach, in charge of bringing beach chairs and umbrellas down for the people laying on the beach. he had such a horrendous attitude, and waved his hand in front of an elderly ladies face, that I went to the front desk and complained to a manager. she said she would take immediate action, and when i returned to the beach I found the teenager laughing and chukling with another manager, like what he did was excusable. The last night we were in the hotel, we awoke at 2:00 AM to pounding music coming from the lobby. if we had known the hotel turned into a club at all hours of the night, we maybe would have asked for a room furhter away from the lobby. Not to mention, a pesky neighbor on his phone rambling about all sorts of things and kept slamming his door. regardless of all these negative points, the hotel itself was GORGEOUS and i would definitly return... one of the most exquisite hotels ive ever stayed in.

Very impressive!
La Concha is very modern and trendy. The pools are just beautiful and the beach front location is amazing. Our check-in was very easy and we were able to check in immediately even though we arrived early. The concierge desk assisted us with information and tours and were extremely helpful. The valet greeted us promptly and were very courteous and provided us with excellent service upon our departure. The restaurant was very nice and the breakfast buffet was excellent in taste and presentation. The chef was kind enough to share his recipe with us for a favorite breakfast dish and personally gave to us. Even though this hotel is not located in Old San Juan, the transit system was available. I would definitely return to La Concha!
TIPS: 1. Tour the Barcardi Plant: Take the bus (.75) to Old San Juan and walk to Pier 2 . Get a ferry ticket (.50 each way) across the bay. Then catch a taxi ($3 per person if min 4 passengers-carpool with other tourists) at the nearby station. Collect your 2 free tickets for drinks and sign up for the tour. Dont plan to bring any bottles back unless you are prepared to pack in your checked-in luggage. 2. Dont drive in Old San Juan-use the free trolley cars. They are more fun and relaxing. 3. Visit the two main forts in San Juan. Buy the ticket for 2 forts and note that you have 4 days use of that ticket. The forts are large and each one takes several hours to tour. These forts are magnificant! Then tour the surrounding city to fit the history pieces together. 4. Be brave and try the local delicacies. They are tasty. 5. We didnt get a chance to see the Rain Forest or caves so well just have to return another time since we just had 2 days from disembarking from a cruise. If you have time, do these two excursions.

loved it!!!
My husband and I travel to PR at least 4-5 times a year and we had a blast at La Concha!! Such nice people and the service is excellent. These folks go out of their way to assist you, especially the concierge Emily and Louise. The rooms on the lower levels could be a little noisy because on the weekends there is a few drunks partying and they could be a little loud. Oh well, theyre on vacation too. The beds are more comfortable on the lowere floors, we were on the 10th floor and the bed was not as nice as the lower level seperate building. The pools were delicious, a little small, but good and the food at the pool was quite good. Go across the street and eat real PR food and cafe del angel!! you must have their shrimp mofongo!!!! We are returning for sure, expedia gave us a super deal and the hotel does not treat you different because you may have gotten a less expensive rate with expedia.
Walgreens is close and so is Dunkin donuts if you just want a little something. Take the Busto old san juan, so much better!!
