A little pricy, but worth it!
For me, a first time traveler to the Ukraine, the Hotel Riviera was a great place to say. The English speaking staff was always ready to help with any request for information, menu selections, or tourism. The room had a phone with easy calling to the USA. The hotel had internet capability on 2 computers in there business office. They also had a driver available to take you anywhere. They earned their 4 star rating! I traveled by myself and did not speak Russian

Excellent Hotel in Kiev’s Historic District
This hotel is new and has all the amenities an English-speaking guest would need. Most of the hotel staff speak English and that was very helpful to me (I have a limited knowledge of Russian). I could also do my currency exchange at the hotel without paying a service fee and they had a computer with internet access available to guests. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet, which is included with the room, was the best that I’ve ever had. I looked forward to this everyday. The hotel staff was very friendly and responsive to whatever I needed. The hotel also provided a shuttle service for me from the airport to the hotel and back for a reasonable fee.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
I recommend visiting Kiev’s historic Podol district, the lavra, and WWII history museum while in Kiev. I did this all with a guide to show me around. I recommend having a guide to show you the city, especially if you do not know the Russian language. The price of hiring one was very reasonable and worthwhile.
